rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

What a fancy discussion we have.

There should be a sticky on top of every forum. "Things wrong with Pakistan/Pakistani People". I bet 90% of the traffic will disappear from all these threads and that will be the longest thread.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

I hereby induct you into the order of internet sleuths.

Bravo

Good. Saved me from wasting time on replying to the trollish posts of eliminator.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

I don't have issues with your post, S0. For one to make several generalizations....and then in the end to support the post that states that generalizations about both groups don't hold true anymore is strange. It's not the supporting itself that baffles me, it's the sudden contradiction.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

Yes, I know that you are not "debating" who is more religious. But when you say that one group of girls is "more" focused on religion, it naturally implies that the other, on the whole, is less focused on the matter. And I'm curious as to how you can even determine that. I don't think it can easily be done.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

Good to see RV back in action, great posts RV!

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

I can understand your curiosity...but I am sure you can understand my lack of interest in discussing who is more or less religious.

I cannot be held responsible for your conclusions or the "natural implications" for an entire country you draw out of my posts.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

You honestly think that I will share my identity with some people whose life and mentality makes my skin crawl, never in a million years will people who abuse and rape their loved ones and have to take permission from their moms before they can sleep with their wives, will get to know who I really am. My mommy gave me birth I am only 35, I should ask mommy before I kiss my bride, mommy says no honey so I won’t kiss you..I love you mom…I should share my identity with this…seriously..

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

:hinna:

Tis’ apparent that you’ve a lack of interest in discussing the point any further. However, initially you did have enough of an interest to mention the comparison over religion in the first place. And this comparison…you can choose to call it a generalization or a judgment… is in essence a conclusion. I have not formed a conclusion as to which group of women is more or less religious; I simply asked how you arrived at yours. Either you say that it was a hasty remark and one that can’t be easily determined. Or if you are confident about your opinion and have no qualms about it, then it shouldn’t be so hard to explain it.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

RV - being confident in my opinion means I do not feel pressed to explain myself any further.

If someone feels they're right, the dire need to tell people dies.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

Rumpelstiltskin!!! That must be your name, good sir! Only I doubt you'll cease spinning your nonsensical yarn, much less disappear.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

I'm not sure what you're referring to. Think I lost the train of the discussion.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

^What I meant was that...if one is going to state generalizations and then later concur with your post that generalizations for both groups don't hold true...it's a contradiction. That is what I meant.

Anyhow....I'm exhausted, so moving on.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

I can't believe responses to this thread. Lift weights, get toned to get married. As if it were all a very noble thing. It's good to be healthy, but wow here it sounds more like vanity.
Also, here in the US people brought up here mostly look for spouses brought up here as well.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

If it only was my yarn, feeding people diseased and insect infected rotton meat, putting hair removal powder in milk, rishwatsataan, dhoke baaz haji namazi...no yarn as powerful as the evil that lurks in the veil of religion, and sure your name is red velvet.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

Go find some references from the Quran, Sunnah, ahadith that encourage the selling of contaminated food, the giving/accepting of bribes, corruption, hypocrisy. Don't evade the challenge...do it. This is a majority Muslim forum, Eliminator. And I can see that there are a few members on here that you seem to get on with because you have found common ground (tattoos and what not) with them, but they're Muslim as well. When you associate these members and their faith with such evils, it doesn't reflect respect for them....and I hope they can see that, even if you fail to. Why don't you ask them if Islam condones the list of crimes you keep harping about over and over again. Heck, why don't you ask Reha, Deeba, and others etc. Maybe they can guide you. If you're that disgusted by Muslims and Pakistan, then simply leave the forum.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

Now you own the internet...I don't know about religion but I know about people using it to exploit and hurt people, use your anger to show how good you can be, why are battered women and underprivileged muslims seeking help from catholic social services, why cant good muslms like you help people in need Not the religions but lies and deceptions is what burns me.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

This isn't representative of all communities though. I don't think that religion is responsible for this, but rather the people or community in question. I think the education level of a community is one of the factors that influences how open minded (or not) a community is.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

What I meant was are the muslim youth going volunteering shovelling snow for elderly, helping them do yard work , offering to do groceries for them, drive them to doctors and stuff, this counts for me as good deeds, not pointing fingers at who shows how much skin or did u study Islamiat in school.

Re: rishtas for desi girls born and raised abroad

Your disgust of west is so apparent that every summer you go to Pakistan and come right back to the society you hate, is it Islamic Republic of USA you live in dear, or they send marines to forcibly bring you here against your wishes.
