If I got a dollar for every white friend that you don’t have, then I still could not help you because you can never become a gora.

Re: Posting Pictures Of Iftari All Over Facebook…

NVM, not worth the effort.

Re: Posting Pictures Of Iftari All Over Facebook…

So yesterday I broke down and bought some Iftari from a desi restaurant, mainly samosa and Pakoras, had two samosas, hand full of pakoras and Rooh Afza in milk and I am counting 1000 cal, no dinner or desert yet. So how are people keeping calories in limit.

Re: Posting Pictures Of Iftari All Over Facebook…

calories in limit ? :frowning: me pehle hi kam khata hoon, one eighth of a chicken, some fries, a glass of milk shake, naan and just 1 khajoor… how much calories are they ?

Re: Posting Pictures Of Iftari All Over Facebook…

Chicken roasted probably 100/ fried 150
fries 250
naan 300
Milkshake 200
Khajoor free for you brother.

I would say 800ish. Average male needs 2400 a day depending on how active and how muscular. I like to keep things around 800 a meal. Grilled meat is low in calories, high in nutrients and very filling. So where is the veggies my friend? A plate should be half veggies, 1/4 meat, 1/4 carbs. I will say have 5 servings of veggies a day. Either slightly steamed or raw.

Most in my family, including me lost weight last ramadhan. My dad and I have already lost in this week.

Re: Posting Pictures Of Iftari All Over Facebook…

Thank yu my brother, this is what I was saying. Rather than helping poor people, the price of food doubles and the poor suffer even more. The ideal thing would be to eat less than a regular day and give to poor.

Re: Posting Pictures Of Iftari All Over Facebook…

Most of the people don’t have your values. Good for you.

Re: Posting Pictures Of Iftari All Over Facebook…

It’s a pakistani/desi thing

Tend to follow culture ,“rasam” ,“rawaaj” then religion

Can see it happening in many Muslim countries too @ poor suffers/ food is wasted

Majority of the desi shopkeepers outside pakistan also follow the trend of raising prices too

As they say it all boil downs to “zameer” and “imaan”

Re: Posting Pictures Of Iftari All Over Facebook…

Some pakoray
(pakoray masala coated on eggplant slice , green pepper chunks and potato slice )

A small bottle of cold Pocari or Crysthanamum Tea

Small amount of fruit chat

How much calorie is this ?

Are you a girl that you have to keep calorie in check?

Re: Posting Pictures Of Iftari All Over Facebook…

Supply, demand, and prices equations are universal and have nothing to do with vendors Iman. If population consumes more than usual food, prices will go up. Gasoline is more expensive here in Summer as people drive more. natural gas prices are higher in winter. Flowers are more expensive during Valentine.
