I don’t know where this friend of your lives and where this Hyderabadi guy has been brought up. If in a Western country then really it doesn’t matter much. Yes, they are more religious than most, I have noticed, so if your friend is not on the same page religiously, that might matter.

One if my very good friends is from Hyderabad, India and lives in the US. She is very nice and sweet and yes she does run the show in her household which I think would be something a woman would welcome ( when I say run the show, I mean the husband is happy to let her take care of it and not nit pick on finances ). She used to be not very religious but then she is now and a bit of a traditionalist.

Food etc is good. But those are secondary issues.

on a serious note..I think hyderabadi guys are ok… but hyderabadi girls, not so sure… in our community 3 hyderabadi girls that were married to pakistanis filed for divorce and took them to cleaners…I don’t know the guys well enough.. maybe they were douchebags and deserved it…** but makes me wary of hyderabadi girls**

U sure about that? It seems to now read more like how Punjabis are different from other groups in less than favorable ways.

Don’t recall saying all hail Punjabis though they’re said to have a vakhri shaan I also didn’t make immeasurable comparisons of subjective traits (religiousness, conservativeness, graciousness) between entire groups.

My Quran teacher is Hydrebadi and she is so sweet. My khala married into a Pakistani Hyderabadi family and they make amazing food and are awesome as well. I come from an Urdu speaking family with background from UP India. My mom doesn’t mind us marrying into Urdu speaking Indians. Punjabis are out though… no disrespect.

Growing up, I had mostly Pakistani friends ranging from Urdu speaking, Punjabi, Pathans. My best friend is Indian Muslim. My closest friends now are Pakistani girls who moved from Pakistan. We get along well even though I wasn’t born or bred in Pak. Not many Hydros in my community but I would love to befriend some, their culture is so rich!

All races have great mehmaandaari.

When growing outside of India and Pakistan, I wonder if these things matter? I am a 90s kid and these things don’t matter to us at all. To my parents, yes. To me, not quite.

I am sure all these racial issues won’t be an issue to the upcoming generation at all.

*Ps: funny this thread comes up now. My Pakistani acquaintance is marrying a Hydro boy from India just next week. She is very happy and her in laws and fiancé seem to be very nice as well.
