Countries are nothing but imaginary lines on a map.
Same goes for goris?

No you need money to eat or drink. Pakistan cannot provide basic sustanance to its people. so best thing is get out.
I wonder if how many of 170 million people living there go hungry and thirsty.
Pakistan is nothing but the people who live there. If 'Pakistan' cannot provide basic sustenance, its basically our own fault.
But then, we are cowards and greedy.

White girls? What do "goris" have to do with this at all?
I'd like to know where you're living right now. What is your location "kakaballi"? I hope your answer will be Pakistan.
Re: Why Pakistani People Going Crazy About Moving Abroad.??
^ Just wanted to know if leaving Pakistan for 'white girls' is as shallow as leaving for money?

Well maybe shallow people will think that Pakistanis are leaving Pakistan for "shallow" reasons.
Leaving Pakistan to make more money abroad isn't "shallow". They do it to give their family a better life. To support their family. Do you think that taking care of your family is shallow?
I don't think anyone would leave Pakistan for white girls. WTH
You didn't answer my question. Do you live in Pakistan?
Re: Why Pakistani People Going Crazy About Moving Abroad.??
Yes, for me taking such decisions based on material considerations is a shallow and cowardly act. This is my opinion and you can very well disagree with it.
No, I do not currently live in Pakistan.
No, I do not currently live in Pakistan.
Hypocrite much?
What was your reason for leaving Pakistan? Or did your parents move out of Pakistan when you were younger? Do you think of them as cowards for doing that?
Re: Why Pakistani People Going Crazy About Moving Abroad.??
^ I took a substantial financial hit and compromised on my lifestyle moving abroad. I intend to move back as soon as I finish my PhD.
It is a much more satisfying life trying to improve lives around you rather than packing up and leaving. Yes, I am selfish but not a coward.

Wait a minute, why do you have to move out of Pakistan to get your PhD? It's not like it will be cheaper abroad. So why not just do it in Pakistan?
Even If you move back to Pakistan after getting your PhD, how are you going to improve the lives of your fellow Pakistanis? Give us an idea please.
Re: Why Pakistani People Going Crazy About Moving Abroad.??
^ It is cheaper abroad (with scholarships) but I had a more financially lucrative option to stay in industry in Pakistan. There is only one other PhD in my area in Pakistan and he is no more in academia and hence I could not do it there.
For your second question, there ARE many ways. If you think there is none, fair enough, I won't try to change your opinion.
This is not about me. This is a discussion forum and I just expressed what I feel. I might be wrong but that's how things work here.

Actually Pakistan comes at the bottom most Human Development Indexes. So calling people cowards just because they want a decent life is insulting to the millions of Paks who work oversees. The remintances they send keep the country affloat.
Pakistan as a state has failed even to provide clean water, a basic necessity to its people, and thats a fact!!!
Re: Why Pakistani People Going Crazy About Moving Abroad.??
India is the same - the rich are becoming rich and the poor poorer.
The rich always question - why do you have to go abroad,we have servants to do the jobs, best hotels & luxuries, why you left your sick parents, why you could not come back, why stand taunts & racial abuse abroad etc etc
They take the high moral ground, without thinking that not everyone is born rich in India, without money(or influence) in India you are nothing - taunts, abuse, injustice, frustration is your lot.
I think we are the brave one - who took the step to leave all our friends & family to re-start a better life abroad.

So it's OK for you to take such an opportunity, but when others do it, they are cowards? LOL
This is not about you, I know. But I sure as hell want to know how you can dare to call others cowards for something which you have done yourself. I'm sure that most users here on GS are abroad also, so yeah, you pretty much called us and our parents cowards. LOL
Keep us up-to-date about how far you're with improving things in Pakistan. ;)
Re: Why Pakistani People Going Crazy About Moving Abroad.??
Although this maybe slightly off topic I thought I'd post it as it does kind of come under the subject currently being discussed.
Some countries offer 'packages' for people to return back to their country once they get an education abroad. This helps the student settle back into life, and they also have a job (or a training opportunity whilst waiting for a good paid job to come up) once they return 'home'. This I suppose was an incentive to maintain an educated workforce in their country and rather than have their citizens settling in the country they get an education in. Although I'm not sure if this is still practiced by this country (Malaysia) it was once back in the 1990s.
I know nothing can be done overnight but I'm sure there will be many desi folk who came to Europe for an education and settled here who would consider moving back to Pakistan if the right carrots were tangled in front of them (for both themselves and their family).
Secondly, I'm not sure how accurate this is but money does talk in Pakistan when it comes to getting into elite college/universities. Are there scholarships in Pakistan or do the families financially struggling have to settle for smaller institutes (possibly of poorer quality) or even go without an education?
No country has ever changed overnight, and if anyone thinks by moving out they are solving an issue they maybe just for themselves.
.....Pakistan as a state has failed even to provide clean water, a basic necessity to its people, and thats a fact!!!
It is always the PEOPLE who provide for the country and not country which provides for its people.
What is Pakistan? a collection of people who live in it. Its not a separate entity working day and night to make life for its people miserable. If conditions are bad, it is the responsibility of people living in it and not the state.
Anyone who runs away from difficulties and responsibilities is a coward and this applies to people who leave country for material considerations.
Re: Why Pakistani People Going Crazy About Moving Abroad.??
for better life and for better education etc.
Re: Why Pakistani People Going Crazy About Moving Abroad.??
After 2012 - whether the world gona end or not - but drinking water gona be a luxury in Pakistan ..
I don't wana live in state of KarB-o-Bala :)
Ask you dad. **Maybe ask yourself why are you in the Queen's land and not PAKISTAN. **You ex-Pakistani.
Were you referring to Firenze? Because last time I checked, the State of New York didn't have a sovereign monarch (and hasn't, since 1776).
Re: Why Pakistani People Going Crazy About Moving Abroad.??
Easy for people to sit thousands of miles away and speculate...... Why don't you guys come over and spend a day here, as an average Pakistani - and no, vacations do not count.
