Shamlay, Pag/ PagRi (in Punjab)… and Patka in Sindh…
Men used to have these in Baluchistan and KPK as well.
While the tradition seems to be followed in tribal areas and sardars of Balochistan. I think Shamle and Patkay in Punjab and Sindh are not in fashion. 2-3 decades back, Allan Faqir looked like an alien when he appeared on media in his traditional patka.
Whats your observation on this matter? Do you still see people having pag/ shmala and patka around you?
Han G... Groom and his brothers and friends too... but will wear different patka and rest of the paltan will wear different color.. Usullay they all wear same color except groom...

I realise that in another thread I am all out there proclaiming my love for traditional and tribal wear (which is very true), but frankly speaking, if my husband turned up on our wedding something like this I probably would refuse to go ahead with the ceremony.
He looks silly, and I’m sure, in matter of few years, he’d dread looking at his wedding album.
