TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Why Taliban Khan dissociated from talks as proposed by his "maut ke saudgar". He was very much proponent of these killers and called them 'ghairat mand'. He should have accepted their offer openly and sit on the side of his 'gharatmand maut ke saudagar'. Again he has proved himself as Universal Master of U-Turns, Pakistan ever created after Mush.

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

i also cannot quit laughing....IK has to be one of the most unlucky politicians...lol

IK would have never thought that taliban would do this to him after all the work he has done for them! taliban have put him in such a bad spot.....i mean just look at Taliban's nomination of people... one from munawar hassan's Jamat e Islami, 2 men representing both groups of fundamentalist and hardcore JUI and then Lal Masjid fame idiot Maulana Abdul Aziz .... and fifth one is no one else but our own Imran Khan!

what a company Khan Sahib got...Hor chuppo Khan Jee!!!

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Some seriously stupid posts. The so called pseudo intellectuals are out like frogs after a heavy monsoon rain.

Ironic, how Taliban words' suddenly became oh so Biblical. Forget that Imran instantly dissociated himself from this talk and rejected the offer, but lets take the words of Holy Taliban and decode all the hidden messages and wisdom behind it. Since when being a mediator equals supporter? So effing pathetic. You can so tell which posters genuinely care about Pakistan and sincerely want peace and the posters who are basically just hate driven and full of prejudice and ignorance.

If Imran by any chance manages to bring a ceasefire and saves innocent lives, he may very well go down greatest peace envoi the modern world has seen.

You know why Pakistan is in such a deep mess for so long, because it's probably one of the very few countries where peace is actually considered a dirty word, a really really dirty word. The passion for violence and war is ingrained in people's psyche. No wonder the civilised world is still offended by the sight of seeing this country with nuclear bomb.

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Let me guess, you must think Imran is the Pope!

Excuse me, the guy came into power 8 months ago and he is responsible for for all this mess? Sorry he is a human and who has every right to express his views, we had a very pro operation dictator for a years and very oh so bloody "anti Taliban" government for five years, and Imran is responsible for creating a 'consensus'? Bullocks! If Imran has been "pro Taliban" all those years, where the hell was all those hundreds of different political parties and army? Why didn't they paint the right picture? But Imran is everyone's favourite punching bag, a scapegoat, an easy mark, a sitting duck etc. The person who should be least (if not at all) blamed for this mess is solely held responsible for every bloody tragedy which he wasn't even part of. Some of you actually hate Imran more than Taliban and admit it.

You know it's people like who are the problem, no one is asking you to waste all your precious and energies opposing Imran, why don't you go and spend time promoting parties who are indeed anti terrorism. That might be more useful. Don't give Imran and his stance so much importance and publicity. If you hate it so much, get bloody over it. This lonely man has apparently hypnotized everyone into believing the same thing: from Americans to Brits, UN to Europe, Pakistan army to Afghanistan. I'm just gobsmacked.

luved all the terms..."Bullocks" "gobsmacked"..."get bloody over it" "effing pathetic"

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Would they come up with anything new? Not really!

LAHORE - The banned Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan is less likely to come up with anything new as far as its demands for peace talks are concerned. It is most likely to stick to its seven demands, already known to everybody.

The Taliban had been demanding an enforcement of Sharia, detachment of Pakistan from the war on terror, release of their imprisoned comrades, halt to drone strikes, rewriting of the Constitution and reshaping of foreign policy, etc. For the negotiations to succeed, the government would have to concede at least some of these demands. And we all know that the Taliban have already made it clear they would not budge an inch from their stated position.

Now the only thing to be seen is that which side concedes how much to the other. It has also been a consistent stance of the Pakistan government that it would not agree to anything which was inconsistent to the Constitution.
Some analysts are of the view that the government might offer a Swat-like agreement to the Taliban that would apply only to those areas controlled by them mainly in the tribal belt. But on the other hand, the Taliban had been demanding an enforcement of Sharia in the entire country. It’s also in common knowledge that the Swat agreement did not last long, and ultimately the government had to launch a military operation to clear the areas of terrorists.
According to the available record, the Taliban time and again insisted on their demand for the imposition of Islamic law in the country. The Taliban had demanded the government released militant prisoners and began withdrawing troops from the tribal region. The banned outfit conditioned that the government released the Taliban militants it was holding prisoner and showed that it was withdrawing soldiers from the tribal region along the border with Afghanistan. A Taliban spokesperson had been quoted as saying, “If the government does not take these two steps, the peace process cannot go forward.”
The organization had also criticised Pakistan’s democratic system, and demanded imposition of Sharia laws and asked the government to break off its alliance with the United States.
The TTP had also demanded end of Pakistan’s participation in the Afghan war and reshaping of the Constitution and foreign policy according to the Quran and Sunnah.
“Pakistan should rewrite its laws and Constitution according to Islamic law. We are ready to cease fire with Pakistan as long as they meet our demands, that an Islamic system should be put into place, they should fix their foreign policy and stop agreeing to American’s demands,” TTP spokesman had said according to a widely circulated English newspaper.

The chief of TTP Mohmand Agency chapter Umar Khalid Khurasani, in a statement, had said, “We demand rewriting of Pakistan’s Constitution, while the military says any talks with militants must be within the ambit of the Constitution. We will not budge an inch from our demand. We will withdraw support from any Taliban commander who compromises on this demand.”

It was also reported that the TTP handed a list of 4,752 prisoners to the government who they want released in past.
The organization’s spokesman Shahid Ullah Shahid had said, “We cannot move forward unless the government accepts these two demands… it must take steps which can develop an atmosphere of trust and can remove the doubts and suspicion.”
The Pakistani Taliban had also insisted us drone strikes in the country’s northwest must stop before they will consider peace talks with the government.
“A ceasefire alone is not sufficient. The stoppage of drone strikes is essential, otherwise, if drones continue to strike, we will not accept the ceasefire,” Shahid said.
The TTP had also raised the demand of monetary compensation for the families of the Taliban who were killed in the tribal areas either in US drone attacks or in military operations.

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Their demands are unacceptable & accepting their demand would amount to total capitulation to terrorists.

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Okay let me rephrase… anti-IK opportunists, feel better? :hehe:

TTP also has claimed that JI, PMLN, PTI as “ham-khayal” in the not so distant past, now they would want to negotiate with PMLN on one side and PTI on other side? :hehe: That really is funny.

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

He is not an authorized person to talk to Taliban from government side, he has been defending talks between Taliban and government, so why should he be part of a conversation where he has no authorization to make any decisions?

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Who is talking about he to talk from government side. He should sit with Taliban the ‘ghairatmand maut ke saudagar’ and negotiate with the government.

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Again Pakistan is standing on the cross road like during 'mardood Zia-ul-Haq'. Really we don't need that kind of Pakistan.

Though he has always behaved like one.

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Do the other parties have any role to play in this mess or is it Imran Khan's work?

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Because he is/was staunch supporter of them.

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

oh bhai only a few days back the army struck targets in NWA, did they seek IK's permission for that? You can keep blaming Ik for lack of operation in NWA but every one knows the army is still hedging bets in post US Afghanistan. Leave alone NWA who is stopping the army for launching operation against LEJ in Balochistan. We know that an operation is going on for the past many years against Baloch militants. The army itself is confused and keeps us confused.

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

being a supporter (supposed) is one thing and creating them another.

Is IK's permission required in cleaning up Karachi as well?

Re: TTP nominates Imran Khan, lal masjid mullah & moulana sandwich to talk with govt

Media is more focused on IK than the whole process of talks. What a pity.

**Govt, Taliban committees to hold first meeting tomorrow
**
ISLAMABAD: Two committees, nominated by the federal government and the Pakistani Taliban, will hold a preliminary meeting in Islamabad on Tuesday (tomorrow) to chart a roadmap for peace talks, DawnNews reported.

Speaking to DawnNews, the government’s negotiator Irfan Siddique said the meeting between the two committees is scheduled to be held tomorrow at 2 pm.

Taliban-nominated committee meets

Earlier today, the five-member committee, nominated by the Pakistani Taliban to facilitate the dialogue process with the government, had held its first meeting in the federal capital today.

The meeting, chaired by Maulana Samiul Haq, was attended by Professor Ibrahim and Maulana Abdul Aziz.

Mufti Kifayatullah could not partake in the meeting whereas Khan was chairing a meeting of his party’s core committee.

Sources said that while addressing the meeting, Samiul Haq had said the four-member committee nominated by the federal government to further the dialogue process with the Taliban had not contacted them, adding that the negotiating team would soon finalise its strategy.

He expressed hope that the government would find a better solution to problems while holding dialogue with the Taliban.

Meanwhile, Professor Ibrahim had said he was very optimistic about negotiations with the Taliban while underscoring that problems could only be resolved through dialogue.
