Re: The Thief Justice and the well overdue emergancy
*Innocent until Proven guilty? *
That's a nice rule to apply to 61 people suspected of terrorism and thereby automatically, of treason against state, not to mention mudding up the name of Islam and God, when you don't apply that rule TO ANYONE ELSE IN THE NATION!
In case you didn't know, Pakistan government has never believed in or excercised the right of innocent unti proven guilty. And rightfully so, in a country where its next to impossible to find someone after you let them go.
Especially since they are suspected of terrorism, they need to have been held in high security prisons until their cases were completely cleared, and they probably were NOT!
In case you don't know 50% of the country has fallen to extremists, and poor villagers have a "naam ka Islamic law" imposed on them. A government within a government, and what's worse - the laws are not even Islamic. This is a battlezone between East and West, nothing more, and they've hijacked half the country for it. Mind you some of the most beautiful parts of Pakistan, thereby paralyzing safe travel and good tourism.
This emergency definitely was long overdue.
All I know is that this stupid suicide bombing needs to end. Its pathetic, and there is no justification for it. The fact that the justice system is allowing all this to happen, is NOT ACCEPTABLE.
Yep absolutely. The ex-CJ was always ordering the release of terrorists, never did he ever order that anyone involved in terrorism should be arrested!
Re: The Thief Justice and the well overdue emergancy
wow… so ex-CJ had all the intelligence reports to find out who is involved and it was his responsibility to find evidence and then indict those people… the level some people can go to justify crimes of government and condemn the rest :k:

CJ ordered people to be considered innocent until proved guilty.
That's what Islam teaches us as well.
And (for people like you), Americans and the West believe in it too.
The reason CJ was terminated has nothing to do with release of terrorists. It has to do with him not endorsing Army generals' insistence on clinging to power.
This is proved by looking at the Martial-Law statement given by anti-Pakistan generals of Army.
Senior diplomats in Islamabad reported dismay within sections of the army, with speculation centred on the recently-appointed vice-chief of staff Ashfaq Kiyani, who is believed to favour a return to democracy.
Lieutenant General Kiyani worked closely with Ms Bhutto when she was prime minister and they are said to have maintained good relations.
“Our information is that at the very least there are misgivings in some high-ranking quarters about what Musharraf has done. But whether this will translate into action against him from within the army remains to be seen,” a diplomat said.
“These are tense times. There has been no sign in the past eight years since Musharraf seized power of his support base within the army fracturing. But there are those within the army who are increasingly worried about the way they are being blamed for all the ills of the regime, and how this reflects on the army.”

Yaar you got to understand.
If the geenrals cannot rule the country then why did they work so hard for.

I agree... CJ had basically paralyzed the core functioning of the country with some very personal decisions.

Re: The Chief Justice and the well overdue emergency
The Chief Justice gains power through the constituation, and is integral to a true democracy...
Musharaf is a two bit dictator who has no respect for democracy, no respect for the rights of his people, or the constitution...
His economic growth is worthless, hardly worth that fiddlers fart to the vast majority...

i can't agree with you any more it's like we believe in the same thing but there are some people who don't understand this

...
this particular chief justice did not gain powers thru constitution but by swearing on soemthign put forth by the dictator. aap yadasht per zor dijye, sab yad aa jay ga

That's right Ch.Iftikhar did not gain powers through the constitution, but by swearing an oath on the Musharraf PC0 of 2000, which has supsended the said constitution.
It's a bit rich of people to condemn the 40 plus judges who have now sworn an oath of the new PCO, when their fallen hero's did the same to begin with to gain their positions!

I never heard of any complaints about CJ hindering such growth from anyone in here, now that Musharraf has stamped some accusation all projects are blamed on him without telling us why CJ stopped/hindered in those projects, what does that mean? your blind hatred of CJ playing there.
Re: The Chief Justice and the well overdue emergency
oh btw, seems like someone just got “educated” about how CJ is stopping all projects, less than a month ago someone by nick “suhaib” said something about it without saying anything regarding CJ meddling in these projects:
Re: The Thief Justice and the well overdue emergancy
That madman CJ released 61 terrorists who probably paid a part in the slaughter of hundreds of people in all the terrorist attacks in the last few months. Musharraf should have imposed Emergency much, much earlier and dealt with this vindictive C!
To corrct you CJ didnt released any so-called terorists - he was even not part of the bench that released them..they were actually released by the two judges who took oath under PCO :)
