Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

Bilawal house is surrounded by protesters. Zardari inside. Mobile service suspended in Clifton. Media not covering this. Ghanwa Bhutto and Jamaat e Islaami leaders join public. All routes leading to Bilawal house are blocked away.

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

Great to see Sunni Tehreek and Jamaat e Islami joining protests. Residents of Clifton making their home WiFi networks password-free so the people can connect and communicate with each other despite government cutting off the phone network. Amazing!

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

A message from someone returning from a sit-in in Karachi:

"I just got back from the Dharna at Bilawal House. The amount of police that teamed around the area suggested that there was some sort of manic protest going on within the container-strewn barriers. The policewomen weren't letting us through, but when we finally made it, the only thing to see was that the road in front of BBQ tonight was filled with women and children in black sitting around a pool of candles. Apart from one man speaking on the stage there was a pall like silence hanging over the group and steadily in unison everyone was beating their chests in solidarity with the protestors in Quetta. Little girls holding big cardboard boxes distributed chicken rolls, Prince biscuits and bottles of water. It's a powerful day when a small group of silent mourners can terrify a government enough to cut off all networks of communication and barricade themselves in their palaces. There is something special in the air in Karachi tonight, For Goliath can feel David stirring. How unsettling must that be."

Re: Terrorist attacks in Pakistan - 2013

It seems as if the terrorists are not getting the signals, the people are really fed up with violence (all kinds of) now. And if they persist there could be a head on collision, if the government does not preent it (by defanging them).
