Birth Stories

Re: Birth Stories

C-Section here. I was advised I may have a c-section in advance as baby never quite stayed head down in position. I went for checkup about a week before due date & the position of baby was bad, and doctor scheduled c-section the next morning as she couldn't get me in that night. It was supposed to be a spinal & she had my hubby all prepped in that weird outfit to go into the OR room. She then did a scan and said the baby's position is bad, bilateral or something....his head was way up in my rib-cage so the doc decided to put me under general ( i forget but something about how it woul dbe difficult to push n shove with the baby way up there and just a spinal...i think it was crap)....but yeah all i remember is being prepped for surgery (I was scared out of my mind...hehe......esp as they popped me up on this board table thing, and kinda tied my hands down...the anesthesiologist gave me some mask n i breathed in the anesthesia i guess....i was gone.

I remember when I was waking up I heard my hubby & mom talking, and im my head I tried to talk but all that would come out was BLURBB.....hehe.
And like other posted mentioned I felt like a truck had hit me and horrific pains in my belly, couldnt move. Seriously i wanted to cry but it hurt too much to cry. But finally when i was in the recovery room & I saw my son, it was amazing. Couldn't believe he was my son. The recovery was crazy but worth it. Key with c-section is you MUST walk around soon as the docs tell you it is OK, it is key to healing.
