Some Views about Islam from a known Pakistani Singer

he could be following one of the modern versions of a sufi tareeka.

bro, don't the sufi of pak/ind argue about same thing; I mean they say how some of the sufis using their potery or whatever helped the increase of Islam in sub continenent?

No, there's no such thing as "modern" tareeka. Some Sufis like Chishti Nizami and Naqshbandi do allow musical instruments but only the traditional instruments and then there's lots of conditions for even using them, also use of musical instruments is considered low or weak not the way of strong Sufi.

Re: Some Views about Islam from a known Pakistani Singer

^when I said modern, I meant to say adopting an exisitng sufi tareeka and modernizing it, and then claiming that it is ok to do. People have done this throughout Islamic history as many of the deviants groups emerged and claimed to be on right path. The traditional insutruments can change from time and place since they're dependent upon local culture and traditions. Considering that using music is low/weak way of sufisim doesn't prove anything.

Re: Some Views about Islam from a known Pakistani Singer

Ok, seriously??

I'm astounded at the replies here.

And then you guys wonder why people think muslims are crazy.

Music is not haraam.
Salman Ahmed is no spokesperson for Islam, but then, neither are you.
He is entitled to his views, and if his views are more moderate Islamic, that doesn't make him a Bidati, or Kaafir, or any other label you folks put on people who don't agree with your rigid interpretations.
You guys scream and yell when anyone calls you an extremist for your views, but you show no leniancy in even listening to other peoples' views without throwing ganday tamaatar.

I am not discussing whether I agree with Salman Ahmed or not. I'm merely commenting on the kind of etiquette I'm seeing when discussing the views of a fellow muslim.

Brian O'connol was never a part of Vital signs. And Salman Ahmad was kicked out right after their first album was released.

Re: Some Views about Islam from a known Pakistani Singer

totally agree with PCG

lets curb the impulse to be the khudai faujdar, tolerance is the need of the hour.

Music is HARAM. Read up on that bro. And provide any proof that tells us that Music is an acception in Islam. We are the true spokesmen of Islam because we believe what is written Allah and not what others have written. Also define true spokesman if you are so ancious to hear them out. Do you want to hear the same stuff regarding Music being Haram from the RIGHT SPOKES MAN?

Here:

Listen to him carefully. There are ganna be people who will make things legal in Islam such as Alcohol, Sex and MUSIC. Where we all know that Music is haram. Even in Holy Quran it isnt said directly that its haram but there are indications and hadees that we must follow in order to figure out and find out that IT IS HARAM.

He said whatever they wanted him to say. And he said lies. CNN and BBC do not go to mosques and all to find out the true islam they usually pick one of theseand give bargin with them that if they say whtever the Media wants them to say, the media will make them famous.

Yes..I said because it is the right word to define such people like this.

Re: Some Views about Islam from a known Pakistani Singer

Ironically, Salman pointed to this very pathetic rigidness (shown in this thread) in the start of the video … “Islam has been hijacked by these people who have no tolerance for debate”.

That’s exactly what you people are doing in this thread. A miserably programmed knee jerk reaction …

oh my god look what he said … yeah I think what you think… the same? … yeah you agree with me? … yeah … he is biddatti … he is kafir … a wanna be.

and that

And then you go around and say Islam is a tolerant and peaceful religion. Hello … what do you tolerate ??? and what kind of peace you are talking about???

lol. off topic question to intoxicated: If you know someone who claims that he believes in you. He knows everything about you. Yet he goes arround talk BS about you and use his own discression to make false judgements about you and tell people a such false statements about you. How would you feel?

The same way we feel about these guys I bet you 10$s that you will not tolerate that person at all. The same way we do not tolerate the person who is just making stuff up and putting it on his shows and calling it ISLAM.

We tolerate 100x more then any other person who is non muslim would tolerate. That is why others like him and entire USA is still alive and breathing. Consider if we werent this tolerant, half of the western countries wouldve been off the map.

:omg:

:hehe:

thanks for a good joke.

Re: Some Views about Islam from a known Pakistani Singer

That wasnt a joke. :)

Re: Some Views about Islam from a known Pakistani Singer

And this thread IS NOT ABOUT MUSIC BEING HARAM OR HALAL!

Re: Some Views about Islam from a known Pakistani Singer

You couldve said it without dots. :(

And no its nothing like that I was answering the person who said "Music is not haram."

This thread is about Pakistani Musicians and their own beliefs regarding Islam. Which is haram.

i wrote lots of thing in other people's reply but I'm just not going to argue anymore with anyone.

Why argue?. Its just talk?! :konfused:
