Pindi ki larkiyaan were so innconet .. sorry to say .. as compare to girls from Lahore or Karachi .. Pindi girls were like angels of innocence

Old cities of Pakistan, all the houses are attached so much so that even roofs are attached .. kids use to hop from roof to roof to play with each other ...
even lots of romances flourished because of those attaced roofs.
I wonder if its still the same in those older nieghborhood ..
any one has any experience of visiting those neighborhood lately?
It's still there in Lahore I mean in "Andrun-e-Lahore". My house is also attatchted with too many roofs but we are not intouch like this. Life has become busy and such trends are not very much common I guess.

^^ That is what I was afraid of. The inner city camaraderie is vanishing. Infrastructure might be same but the value system that we once grew up in is all gone ..

Well, conditions and circumstances are also changed, people are no more trustworthy. We are bound to live extra carefully, that has created space between the people in our societies.
As far as the romances are concernd then people have found many ways to meet their so called beloveds and they find these ways better than the roofs. That's the drakest aspect in our society.

how is meeting through the internet or love affairs through the cell phone the darkest aspect of our society? how is that any different from standing on the rooftop and oggling whoever decides to climb up?
the darkest aspect is the blatant prostitution which is so under wraps that it's easy to deny it, even though you know that it is there in the back of your mind. the darkest aspect of our society is turning a blind eye towards children on the streets, begging, or doing the work of a 20 year old, or being treated as non-humans just because they can't afford soap to wash their faces. the darkest aspcet of our society is not listening to please of men like Edhi and his work, and instead wasting that money on designer clothing which is probably not needed, spending that money on swarovski crystals instead of cheap plastic, spending that money on brand new cars and cell phones, and not donating that money to organizations that use that money well.
two people just meeting and have teenage-like affairs is not the darkest aspect of our society.

i would still disagree and wouldn't call silly love affairs a dark thing, or the end of society. it's just something that has been done through the ages, and heck if that wasn't happening, the human race wouldn't be moving forward. i just don't understand why we so look down upon a silly thing as two people sending each other stupid text messages, but ignore the other and bigger dangers to our society and culture.

That's our negative way to deal with problems. We just ignore the small probs and rush towards the biggest issues. ISSUE is ISSUE it is not the question of how big and small it is, the major concern is that issue is leaving nagative effects on the society. I live in Pakistan and I know how this thing is affecting the whole society.. It would be really strange if you say such issue "Silly", one should be open minded but he/she should be enough mature to understand the difference between right and wrong.

it’s amazing how it’s so easy to dismiss the plight of the poor and the sick as a big issue, but it’s so easy to make a mountain of a molehill when it concerns other issues.
i’m not denying that stupid and immoral things are done, but to see everything with a buri nazar isn’t being mature either. maturity is to work on things around yourself, however big or tiny it is, and to not make a big deal out of things which can usually be chastized and stopped. agar itni paraishani hai internet aur cell phones ki, to na do. in the olden days girls were not allowed to go on the chatt, go to bazaars without a chaddar or a burka. why not bring that back to stop everything?
anyways, i digress, and the thread might be taking a turn where it wasn’t supposed to. or was it TLK

Noone is ignoring the "Child Abuse" "Child Labour" and other social issues here. Yahan Values ki baat ho rahi thi aur Chhat pe dating ki I just contnued that thingi, baaki ke jo issues hain wo apni jaga hain. raha sawal cell phones ke misuse ka, internet ka to ilzaam inn facilities ko dainay ki bajaye why doesn't someone use his/her own brain and stop him/herself from misusing these things? akal to puranay ya naye zamany ki mohtaj nahi hoti. And yes everything is undercontrol agar koi chahay to and I agree with you here kay ye sab facilities di hi na jayein agar iss ka ghalat istamaal ho raha ho. and ye kis nay kaha hai puranay waqton main girls ko chhat pe janay ki ijazat nahi hoti thi? ye sab hota tha aur ab iss se ziada "NEW" techniques aa gaee hain and koi issue jab barrhta hai to wo nuksaan hi deta hai.
