^ Because he had done that on the previous ball as well. Afridi was looking to hit Tendulkar out of the ground by coming down the track on almost every ball. Tendulkar was bowling negative line btw.

Tendulkar was bowling negative line btw.
Just as an FYI, there is no such thing as "negative line" in One day Cricket.
Any line that makes run scoring difficult is "good line".

No, I disagree. Bowling legspin from around the wicket and pitching outside leg IS negative bowling. In Tests the batsman would pad the ball all day long, but in ODIs that luxury can't be afforded by the batsman.

Here's the thing my friend :
In test cricket, when the bowler is bowling with the single goal of preventing the batsman to score, he is said to be bowling negatively.....esp since in Test Cricket, a bowler can get away by bowling very wide outside off or leg or bouncers.
In ODIs however, the bowler does not have the same freedom to bowl away from the batsman or bouncers without being penalized. And in ODIs, it is totally undertstandble if the bowlers is bowling with the single-purpose intention to prevent run-making.
In fact, if you ask me, a bowler who can bowl "negatively" in ODIs and not be given "wide" or "no-ball" is a GENIUS in my opinion- somebody whose bowling should be appreciated.
