Do you know anyone at Nadra or you’re just being the good smaritan? If later then don’t worry, I’ll call them one of these days. Our plan to visit this year is cancelled anyway
i find the “Sattra giraid kay affsar say tasdeeq…” quite offending
as if they would really hold the poor affsar accountable if I decide to end up on the interpol list. And the tasdeeq, off course, can not be done by a family member…
because in their books, by default, all close family members are liars
I want to know the logic behind getting your application certified by some other person who has a NICOP
Hey, I got my NICOP and so did many others I know. Last time I checked, the "rest of the world" wasn't keen enough to apply for Pakistani immigration. So the service is the front face of nadra to us pakistanis and the minority non-paki folks who happend to have a paki spouse and an utmost desire to get a NICOP. The bottom line is, its 1000000000 times better to apply online using NADRA site then to deal with the idiots in Pakistani Embassies in the U.S. I am sure most here can relate.
obviously what I am talking about is completely lost on you. You're content with "hey ... I got my card" and not willing to look beyond while my concern is about the overall quality of the service and customer care.

Quality of service and the customer service is just fine. You just don't want to appreciate their effort of making this available. Whining about a typo?? come on.
You are obviously not going to have a NICOP on a tray served to you on your dinner table. There is always room for improvement in any process. Its not perfect but what is? Be my guest and send your NICOP application to the embassy. That is your only alternative and its ugly.

Nope - the quality & customer service is NOT fine and there's LOOOOT of room for improvement. For a starter, they should fix their broken email system and understand that LIVE chat means LIVE chat ... as in ... put someone on the other end who can take the queries in real time rather than routing you to a dead-ended email.
As for appreciation, here's what I said earlier and I quote it here for you again

But if the idea behind offering online service is to make the process more convenient, then a put a little bit more effort into it instead of this half baked attempt
[/QUOTE]
this is all they gonna get from me till they really catch up with the deficiencies they currently have.
But yes, the silver lining is that it DOES save us from those morons at the embassy/consulates who think they've done a great favor just by picking up the phone on the 20th attempt.
on a lighter note ... I liked nadra's street address: Shahrah-e-Jamhuriat ... is there even such a thing in Pakistan ... where does this road lead to ... GHQ ?? :D

lol... it actually exists, its pretty close to the Marriot
Asif, since you're the unofficial spokesperson for nadra I'm reporting back to You: I submitted my complaint and after it was submitted successfully it came back with a status "Resolved" on the next page.

Go figure.
I was just happy to not having to deal with the embassy folks. The last straw was when I applied for passport renewal few years ago, they asked me to send the original ID card (old CNIC, not NICOP). The ID that they send back with a renewed passport though was not mine. It was someone named Raja Asghar with some wierd last name from New York. I found the person on yahoo people search and called him directly and as expected he had my Id. We sent each other our IDs.
On top of that, I didn't receive the passport back until 4 weeks even though I paid for expedited/urgent service.
By getting the NICOP through Nadra's site, I said good bye to the chacha khairu and kaka fitte muNh at PK embassies. With NICOP along with my blue passport, I will never have to renew my PK passport.
Don't report back to me. I was only sharing my experince with a process that I seriously thought was a breeze.
Sure asif, you were only sharing your good experience (unlike us who were sharing our bad experience) -- all we have to do is not take into account your half dozen posts on criticizing me that i've made enough efforts to contact nadra...or we should just be glad there is at least a website out there offering the fascility even if it feels like a front for milking money from random oversea expat pakistanis--
you know what I think? I think they send cards to about 50% or so people of apply on that site just enough to keep the flow coming in as situation at consulates is even worse and for rest of the 50% they are just scamming.
I haven’t had a problem contacting them. It has worked for me.
I have talked to them on the live chat. I have created one complaint as I was being inpatient about receiving my card bac. The complaint was duely responded to following a NICOP in the mail.
asif, this just proves one thing: you know someone in the inside. there is no way you could have received a response from nadra–that website has “under construction” sort of air about it. nothing there works. period.
