First of all, By no means these actions are okay or justified.
but, this desperate measures are due to our own so called muslim society.
Do you know how many girls get divorced just because their sheets were not stained or whatever.
How many husbands and in laws torture women solely because of this reason.
Even in Islam, it is advised not to worry about a man or woman past or question it. If you are marrying her/him then have faith in Allah. If you can't then don't marry her and once you are married have faith. You should not punish her for her sins. Leave that for the judgment day. Yet, even the most educated folks in our society judge and treat the women based on that and as a result girls take these desperate measure in hopes to avoid this.
You can't pin point one thing without looking at a bigger picture.
In the end, we all own our sins and deeds and the only being to question it is the Almighty one.

It indeed is fraud. At the same time the women who get divorced for this reason is also unfair. Also, what about the man who lie about their pasts? what about man and infedilities. Its just not man or woman these issues are a society as whole.
The topics here might sound saint to you but mostly that you refer to and from what i have seen are general opinions. No one here shares their personal stories or such in this matter. also i think its ignorant to generalize it to only ABCD, CBCD, BBCD. Trust me there is not much difference left in culture of these places and our own countries. Such surgeries and methods takes place worldwide.
In the end of the day, judging or critizing some one based on this reason is not only morally wrong but even religiously wrong no matter if its a man or a woman.

However... i dont think surgery as such should be banned as some have suggested... It can be a good thing too... (hear me out b4 u start throwing chappals)
Some girls are sexually abused at a young age... A close friend of mine recently opened up and told me she was abused by her cousin at the age of SIX! and the bast*rd was 17. Im not going to go into detail about this but because she was 6 she cant remember how far he went with her. She never told anyone in her family and now she's due to get married soon and is totally worried whether she is still a virgin or not. She hasn't really considered getting any type of surgery done coz she isnt sure, but for girls who are sure, its not their fault. Some pakistani families are very narrow minded and rather then having the whole khandaan find out that the girl was sexually abused its easier for them to take actions such as hymen replacement surgery..
And what about girls who are raped... Personally if i was in a similar situation (allah na kare) I would never ever EVER let my father or brother find out, Imagine the guilt that would over come them for life. Id confide in my mum and get alternative methods to sort me out.

I agree with Lady llama. However, it is not guaranteed that a virgin will have a hymen. You can lose your hymen via other means and it does not have to be akinned to sexual intercourse. You won't know until you do the deed.
As for the surgery, you might be able to deceive others but not yourself.

Frankly Farhanyu, there are many new things taking over our lives and culture .... you cannot class majority of the girls in the "lost category" .... I think alot has to be blamed on the western culture and the upbringing of a child. Westerners class sex before marriage as totally acceptable , fidelity is not as strong a value for them, having multiple partners is acceptable to them.... we are wrong when we start following their wrong morals ... and not jsut girls , but guys as well are to be blamed in this new trend of "being like the goris and gora's "
But still generalizing is wrong , and whilst I do know several girls who have crossed their islamic limits , I do also know greater number of girls who have protected themselves against this sin.
