Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You
If it is true that he had 8000 pounds in open bag... then i must say that this money 8k didnt mean alot to him. Someone who didnt worry about keeping 8k in safe place wudnt put his career in jepordy for 1.5k. So it wasnt about money, it was more about returning the favor.
Secondly, If he did text Ali to delete his messages then he was obviously more scared about his conversation with Ali than his conversation with Majeed. Meaning he bought what majeed did tell him, hence it cud be true that he was returning majeed just a favor.
Third putting 1.5k sperately does seem like that he in back of his mind did think that it was haram money for him. Regadrless of he is guilty or not, he knew about it or not least i can say that he did keep his halal and haram money separate.
Just my Opinion.
Whole story, that he was just texting Ali to find out what he wants, does not hold water. We know, he had lied before until he made guitly plea in London Court. This makes me belief that he is not telling the truth about his dealing with Ali. This one area of story does not fit into his whole narration of it-was-onetime-thing-and-I-was-stupid-victim, so he decided to make up the story that he was just testing Ali. Also, this whole interview looked staged.
It is sad to see this talented man lose his 5 years but he will still be only 23 after 5 years. Let him serve his ban or he should tell the whole truth including what was going on in Australia tour and other related stuff. If he tells whole truth then ICC can consider relaxing the ban.
It will be interesting to see what Salman Butt has to say when he comes out of Jail. Since his career is over, he has no incentive to hid anything. He might as well tell the truth and write a book.
Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You
we Pakistanis always badmouth haroon largot but he seems very reasonable on aamir issue…agree with one of the comments on cricinfo that haroon is not saying ICC won’t review the ban. He’s saying you don’t start a ban with “now let’s review” attitude. You show remorse, you do what’s asked, then 12-18 month down the line - when you’ve put something back into the game maybe they say “Ok - 3 years is enough - you can play again now” If Amir is sensible this is what will probably happen. I think if aamir do the right stuff, he can play in next 2 years…but focus shd be on doing “right” things…

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You
Muhammad Amir, I don't forgive you. You are young, choose some other profession. You are and will be a living example for all the cricketers to come.
Hopefully you will burn in hell for selling your country for some worthless piece of paper.
...Nothing wrong with the rich senators if they can provide the source. But who's money is white in Pak? Not mine at least and i am just an average person.
ummmm.... how can we reconcile these two statements?

Haroon is very balanced and fair executive. Under the constraint he discharges his duties very well.

Yes he carries out all the orders of BCCI very diligently. Pathetic character.

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You
I am waiting for his first ‘balanced’ comments over the issues involving India since many years.
He only choose to open his mouth when issues are related to Pakistan
Remember selective justice is same as (or worst than) injustice

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You
But don’t forget PD that Lorgat can say all these ‘nice’ things now because he is nearing the end of his term (and will therefore not be at the heart of decision making by ICC). He will be replaced by a new CE in June 2012, I believe

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You
He didn’t have anything to say when that English player was caught?
Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You
Good read
Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You
I am not a fan of Lorgat but I agree with him here.
I was a huge fan of Amir before this scandal. Seriously. There is evidence on this website. You might say I’m Indian so I can’t be as big a fan as a Pakistani, but I disagree. I loved the fact that we have upcoming fast bowlers who have the potential to be legends. We have way too many batsmen like that but not enough bowlers. As a cricket fan, I loved watching Amir bowl. I was rooting for him throughout the England series until the scandal happened. I felt as cheated as many of you Pakistanis fans.
But, he f***ed up. That’s the truth. I want him back but not until he has suffered enough punishment. Being able to come back at the age of 23 is still a great opportunity for him.
He can still be a legend. You heard it here first
Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You
If any of you dont wana forgive Aamir coz you think he threw no balls for money than i understand ur point but if u think he made a mistake by cheating in cricket then Afridi dereves 7-10 years for biting the ball.
If you cant forgive Aamir then why have u forgiven Afridi ?
