Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

I forgive you only, if you write a book with everything you knew before being busted, communication with colleagues and other folks in Dubai and India and what was told to you by Majeed and Butt about fixing.

The thing is that a lot of Amirs will come and go (although he has a rare talent) but the core of the issue is not addressed by silencing these three criminals. The whole syndicate of corruption in cricket in Dubai, Johannesburg, Mumbai, Lahore and other places needs to be fully exposed and if there is anyone in ICC's ranks that is involved, should be brought to justice.

This fixing (not gambling) saga needs to clean with Haarpic for good.

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

Muhammad Aamir, I don't know who you are but you must be some kind of superstar so that's why I forgive you too.

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

^^ The story seems believable, however, the question remains that "why does our society produce people of such low integrity and self belief when it comes to being virtuous?"
Yes he was 18, but really that is a reasonable age when you consider that he was not a little home bound boy protected and sheltered, rather he was a boy off of the streets playing crickets with all types of characters..
Any how, bottom line is that he will be forgiven and should be. However PCB should take more steps towards creating a character building regimen in the cricket academy alongside the sports coaching to avoid this in future.

As for salmon butt...well...see what the superficial supposed "english speaking" class of Pakistan's elite are really made of..pathetic.

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

I dnt understand much of cricket but i have heard from almost everyone who has good knowledge of the game that this guy is just brilliant! so its just so sad how we r nt able to manage our players and keep them from going the wrong way. I m def not saying the guy is not at fault, he sure is and part of me wl never forgive him cuz he costed us so much. But i m just tryin 2 understand what cud be the reasons for them to go that way? i guess they r young and get influenced…comin from poor background and seeing so much money they just go mad. I guess there shud be psychological and moral training for the players 2…:bummer:.

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

He needs to come out and expose everyone... other players.. national and local team management.. bookies.. etc etc etc.

Aamir after watching Cheema and Wahab, please forgive me..I mean I forgive you (forgave you the day you were released from serving your time brother)

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

He is either extremely stupid or inexcusably conniving.

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

While defending street cricket player, lets not go overboard and call all 'english speaking" class as pathetic. Don't forget Saleem Malik, Ijaz Ahmed. There are criminals in all parts of society whether it speaks a particular language or whether it follows a particular religion etc.

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

ahhh you listen to it and you feel like crying…yes for ammir too but more for the fact that what a loss for pak…

Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

The most poignant part is the end where Atherton says 'whether cricket wants him' and it is a resounding NO!

re: phoenixdesi

That just made me incredibly sad. He was sorely missed in yesterday’s match.

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

A player's talent should not give him extra room for corruption, cheating or fixing. It's not fair to the guy next to him who does not have the same natural talent but works hard, follows the rules and stays loyal to the country.

Amir was no doubt a great talent. He is still a little kid. It is too soon for him to come back. He needs to go through his punishment from ICC. Even if he comes back in 3-4 years, he will still have at least 10 (maybe more) years of cricket in him.

Re: Muhammad Aamir I Forgive You

Yup - 5 years is a harsh ban for Amir - Id like to see it reduced to 3 years instead for international cricket, and 2 for domestic cricket. Meaning after going through anti corruption programs, he should be allowed to resume playing domestic cricket after 2 years, and international cricket a year later.

As for Butt and Asif - they should never be allowed near a cricket ground again.
