***It surprises me to no end , that it isn’t the non-muslims that are making these claims but the Muslims nowadays!!!
I’ve seen recent posts on this forum that proclaim wearing a hijaab is a sign of being oppressed and those who propose it or wear it are orthodox and it makes me wonder how conveniently people twist Faith to suit their needs!
Hijaab is a Sign of Liberation from cultural and societal norms but not everyone has the courage to wear it !
Shyen we all know what hijab does. I am not going to talk about that.
But one strange thing I noticed is ppl who speak truth dont leave their ground, and say the same thing where as lose kind of ppl attack them from 20 different angles. Its like in surah na'as I guess " jo pechy hat hat ke hamla kery waly"
the only thing I don't understand about hijab/burqa etc, is that if the woman is so intent on covering herself up because she's such a super hottie that men would lose their composure just by looking at her, then why doesn't she stay at home? why even go outside? stay at home... if the idea is to not expose yourself to the gaze of others, surely the safest place is to stay in your room.
and wearing them ninja burqas is a surefire way of attracting attention to yourself. there was a lady who used to get on the subway wearing a ninja burqa. ppl would ignore the ladies dressed normally but she would get noticed for sure 'cause God knows what kind of devastating beauty was hiding in that black tent. so, what was the point of the burqa again?

Hijab due to controversy involving it has become a political statement and thats the reason it is becoming more populer. Its like, i know you disapprove of it, but, i'll do it.

well covering ur face like ninjah style as u say is no harm even if people see her its there problem not her and there is no where written that u should stay ur self at home ...if u want to go out u can go out with covering ur self mind it she will have a better position then us when we die.
one has to cover her self as its a order by Allah if i tell u that how much ......sin is there if u show a single hair to non mehram u cant imagine ......!so if one is doing it let them to be....:)
Samb, I can only explain in a humble way... A woman's beauty is her treasure. She wants to hide it , or , sometimes her elders encourage her to hide it , as part of our faith , doesnt mean she is being nonsense.
Its quite similar to : Why do you wear clothes, why not just walk around nude? Why does the law not tolerate nude people? the nudists do say that we who wear clothes are being oppressed into wearing them !!!
you decide whether we wear clothes to protect ourselves and our self respect or purely because we are oppressed?

Many of our own people are ignorant to the fact that hijab is wajib.. I hate it when people deny what is the truth... Im not miss perfect myself but at the end of the day I know what ever I do is wrong and pray to Allah to correct me, to make me stronger. Doesn't mean I have the right to trash what is written in the quran and hadith and dismiss it as ludicrous and oppression.
And whatever happened to respect? If your not going to respect the choices of your own brothers and sisters how will others respect them? I don't necessarily agree personally with the niqaab that doesn't mean I have the right to trash people who wear it!
And that doesn't mean that hijabis and niqabis have the right to look down at non hijabis and niqabis.. There's no difference between you and the people who trash our religion IMO and I would say an attitude as such does not really serve the purpose of hijaab.
People have the right to voice their opinions, but wouldn't it be wiser to do so in a manner that wouldn't offend others! No need to mock people for their beliefs and way of life. Im sure you can put forward your arguments in a mature manner instead of going back to playground days.
And im sure we've established the fact that hijab is not an indication of purity.. so please lets not go there.. again and again!
and what about Indonesian or Malaysain muslims females. they arent muslim? they not commonded ? they just covered there hair with scarf and open face, and lot of afrcian countires too..
This is the main reason, right here, but most narrow minded folks will never understand. The number of girls who get stick from their own families/biraderi for donning the hijab, is unbeilevable. Now that attitude is understandable when coming from nonmuslims, but it is downright pathetic, when coming from co-muslims.

Exactly.
I couldn't care less about men staring at me. I am an independant, confident girl and I could protect myself even if I was going around naked. I don't need a piece of cloth to protect me. The only reason I wear the hijab is because Allah s.w.t said so. Where's the debate?
Did Allah command Hijaab (here, I mean those big tents with the eye screens)...or did He command that women dress modestly?
Look up the Quran to see exactly what Allah commanded men and women to do.
Since you and I have different opinions on "modest dressing", Allah s.w.t has made it easier for us by laying out the details in the Quran so that we won't kill each other over what we consider modesty is.
