I have views about the U.S based on my observations but I have no views on Islam. I am very liberal when it comes to religion. Therefore I am not what you imagine me to be. I am not reacting to anything. I am just making a point about hypocrisy of the U.S.

I think you missed the point. Out 2 billion people if only 0.01% react to such extreme provocation than that is still 200,000 people. Everyone knew that there would be a reaction, only the scale of the reaction was debatable.
The other point that you are missing is that the U.S could and should have convicted the people responsible and if necessary it should bring in new laws like in did in regards to the funerals of military personnel. If any other group had been offended e.g the jews then you could have expected a sure response from the government of the U.S.
