Omg the epi was bit sad it seemed as if she has no right over her huby house or anything. Mikaal is doing good in this drama I didn't liked him in KPKPBT.
Very sad episode. Excellent acting by all. This role suits Sanam Balouch and mikail Zulfiqar. An excellent script by Umera Ahmed. Btw the way a lot of this hits home with a lot of us.
Aside from the zulm she had to bear, Durr e Shahwar was kind of a moron in her youth with a major "poor me" syndrome. When her sister and friend asked about "Mooon Dekhaee" she could've said that her husband gave her money- instead she said "SAU DEEAY" with a sad puppy eyed look as if she was the biggest victim in the world. that was pretty immature and !frankly insensitive her hubby prob couldn't afford more and even if he could, it was rather classless of her to make him the laughing stock in front of her friends/family. Then the issue over food :s - like freakin CRYING while eating at susral and then making that puppy face in front of her parents and saying "ub adat nahi rahee" (regarding salad)- like WTF woman I am not gonna feel sorry for you just because the food is too spicy for you or you aren't getting your flipping salad or had to eat parathas! her "Poor Me" syndrome is super irritating and totally sidelines her actual problems.

I did feel sorry for her. There was a. Huge class difference. I think the parents wanted a bahu from a good family because they wanted the perks. Mind you this was an arranged marriage not a love marriage.

i think we should see that it is a story of past.actually our mothers's young age.this type of marriages were common in those days.about 'money matter'i think durr e shahwar is clueless about all these sensitivities of life ,she had led a very easy and straight life so she don't know how to handle.even now girls suffer from these attitudes.
Um, Shandana's daughter is creepy. I don't like her acting; it does not endear her to me. I don't like the way she talks...and how she says "Daddy"...putting so much pressure into the word. They could have found another child to play the role. The child's role shouldn't be underestimated.
^Have solace, S_Punk , in the idea that while we have to suffer now with watching Sofia.......that kid will grow up and look back on her own child-acting and CRINGE! On that day, we shall be avenged.
I have been watching alot of dramas lately but Durr-e-Shawar stood out for me! :k: because unlike the others this one doesnt rely on 1 actor’s good performance or just good humor but it has a good storyline, good performances and is very well executing the intricacies of human relationships esp those of the married couples.
The most interesting aspect of this drama for me so far has been the comparison of perceptions. There is this men who for his daughter is the idea of the ultimate husband but in real he was far from it. How this same father has a different set of requirements from his son in law but when he was the sil, he followed a different set of rules. Strange? Double Standards? Or just human psychology :p. I am just getting addicted to this drama.
arghh, ok i didnt like sanam in some of the other dramas also but this is height of stupidness assuming she is havin an affair with the director just cuz he keeps repeating her?! :halo: duffers. So faisal qureshi is probaby gay and has an affair to with the director who keeps repeating him .
I think sanam is perfect choice for this shawar’s role, from todays actresses i dnt see anybody else playing this part with that grace as she does. Iinfact i think everyone is cast very well in this drama, they all suit their parts. And yah durre shawar is a very nice name and it has a nice meaning too, thanks to whoever posted the meaning :).
Totally agree with you. Sanam Balouch plays this role beautifully. I also like Mikail Zulfiqar as young mansoor. Beautifully executed. This is the best drama right now. Good drama to follow Humsafar. Sanam. Balouch is very talented but
Sometimes her roles don’t suit her. But this an exception. All actors are good except for the child actor. She is a bit annoying. the role but it doesn’t suit her. Poor casting IMO. I also like Saba Faisal’s acting.
Is it just me or the Sanam's character is very sensitive? She lived in the city, but during her marriage life she is so quite. Plus she is so easily hurt by her MIL comments about food, jewelry and trip to other place.
I agree. Meekal has done a fab job :k:, I am sure he is or will be appreciated alot for this role :).
As for the child actor, well lol i find her accent quite weird .
She is quiet cuz of what is happening around her…if there is no one to talk to or listen 2 u, u cant just keep talking like an idiot. And i dnt think she is being senstive, she is being a human being :halo:.
EXACTLY!!! she cried when she couldn’t have salad such a drama queen. and I can’t believe she had the nerve to tell her hubby of a few months that she didn’t care for his family and didn’t wanna stay with them or even want to try to fit in. who the F says that to someone about their family and that too when you barely know them.
Wonder when we'll be back to the future. I am not really watching the current episodes of the my saas is mean and I am so bechari bit. It's totally yawn worthy for me.
