Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

It is important to a certain level of course. What I wrote is how I feel....
Maybe you shouldn't pay too much attention on aesthetics as one day he may not be that good looking. Therefore, things like honesty etc are important and outweigh good looks for example. Unless of course you're ok with marrying a dishonest man with good looks.

Although, attraction was omitted from my post it doesn't dictate its importance. Its merely personal preferences...

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

I wish Brother Abu Bakr Rizvi was here to air his thoughts on this topic :(

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Air the thoughts?? thats just an awesome expression of i come to 'interpret' it...

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Of course.. Just I think there needs to be some sort of attraction.. but then again it doesn't necessarily have to come from physical appearance.. Each to their own..

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

I think I meant to write share..lol.

Re: Complexion of the ‘Larka’

Oh Sendhil :hayaa: I find him highly attractive

And no…as long as I find him attractive his skin colour or complexion doesn’t matter to me at all. If anything I’ve noticed I have a slight preference for darker men…

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

He must be gora-chitta...bilkul chaand jaisa (minus the craters, of course). And a lovely pinkinsh hue should blossom across his cheeks (face waalay, of course) at the mention of sex and all potty words. You see, a blush is most visible in chitti complexions and not so much in brown and kaali ones. And that is the best indication of sharam-o-hayaa, and richness of character.

Re: Complexion of the ‘Larka’

I didn’t derail anything. I answered the question asked in the thread.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

People will vary in what qualities they want in their partner. Our culture places greater emphasis on fair skin, in general, for both genders I think....but more so for women. I remember some of my cousins in Pak ...and their friends as well...got married to considerably darker skinned men. And they'd joke around about it, but it wasn't treated as a deal-breaker.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

I will say this based upon personal experience in pakistan and most of you with darker skin would have experienced this as well, that you do not get treated as well at big hotels, clubs, restaurants etc, if you have darker skin than average, with the waiters and other staff thinking that somehow you do not belong here. Even amongst the crowd at these places, you would get strange stares from people wondering if you really have a membership or just sneaked in. I won't mention the name of the club in Karachi but will just say it is in DHA close to the sea. If you invite any guests to the club, who do not look like the average members of the club, that is they are darker than average, they can expect more security and questioning, even the staff checking with the member if you have invited any guests.

Re: Complexion of the 'Larka'

Oh come off it, you really have a vendetta against desi society don't you? While I agree there is some discrimination in terms of weird looks from staff etc, it usually has to do with the way you dress and talk and not with your colour.
