Pakistan Cricket team has done reasonably well. we must encourage them rather then dragging them into such controversies. we were in semis. i think its great. see SA an SL; they were out of the tournament much earlier. So please please please encourage our team for coming series......
Whether true or not, these allegations coming from a Pakistan politician definitely put a question mark on the Pak team's sportsmanship...

I don't understand this ^ at all. If Pakistan lost India was out of the tournament. If Pak won, India had a chance to come back. So why would India lobby conspire for a Pak loss in semis?

While Imran does sometimes say things which I even find very hard to comprehend, here he is infact saying that Pakistan did not lose the SF on purpose and the accusation by Senate standing committee on sports is baseless
At the same time he can smell something fishy because the standard of umpiring in the SF in his opinion was unusu. substandard. Taufel was surprisingly poor and the way he was acting was strange to say the least.
IK (despite his support for Younus as captain in the past) is also saying that Younus Khan does not deserve a place in the one-day side on the basis of his batting and feels that Asif should have been preferred over Rana in the SF. So IK here is not showing any bias if anything and we must commend him for that
Did anyone watch Bolain Kya Baat hay's recent episode where Mirza Iqbal Baig was interviewing the idiot Dasti? I watched some clips which they showed of the program during GEO News.
Dasti very conveniently denied during the interview that he has accused Pakistan team of matching fixing during the 2 games. THe idiot has changed his stance and said that many people complained about Pakistan performance and suspected match fixing. So YK, Inti and Butt have been summoned to provide some explanation.

IK should know that umpiring mistakes are part and parcel of the game. Many vocifirous apeals for LBW that looked to be hitting the stumps were denied by umpires because of technical issues like pitching outside leg or impact outside the line etc. The only obvious mistake was Umar's LBW. If he was accusing the umpires of incompetence that was one thing, even accusation of bias could be swaloowed but accusing the umpires of corruption is simply not acceptable. Does he have any proof of any sort?
As far playing Asif instead of Gul, hindsight is great for making these observations. At the time playing Gul and Rana was the logical thing to do. Gul had played throughout the tournament, was the quickest of the lot and a death overs specialist. He had a mixed tournament with some good bowling in between a lot of dross. Asif looked pretty ordinary and slow on his come back until that one over. He is known to go for a few runs in death overs as he is more line, length and movement bowler. Gul had the best ability to bowl fast yorkers in death overs among the fast bowlers.
Younis (or any other player) should not have played when not fully fit, that I can agree with, especially given his batting form.

I dont know where are you getting this from but to me he is saying "Pakistan has not lost it intentionally but looking at umpiring standard in the game, Indian lobby might be involved in fixing the match with umpires "

Agree with you re. his other comment about umpires and indian lobby. That is a very stupid thing to say without any substantial proof or evidence.
And I am not blaming anyone here but the batters. They batted poorly and did not deserve to win after making just 233. That was a very ordinary effort on that wicket and they just crumbled under pressure. NZ were the better team on the day
