Is being sexist always carry a negative connotation? genders are naturally different, so there must be certain differences and different expectations. Can we say that the person who invented the idiom ‘jis ka kaam, ussi ko saajhe’ was a sexist?

Personally, I do not think that expectations are negative per say. We all have some sort of expectations of others and that is natural. Expectations only become negative when people are strictly limited to and are forced to remain within the expectations.

I also wanted to add that I do not believe that it is just marketing that has triggered such attitudes. Marketing, in its present form, has simply made these attitudes more visible.
