I loved them. All that anger and passion. Drove them crazies it did.
Now.......I did find THAT aspect of the novel to be intriguing....the idea of there being a fine line between love and hate. Two very powerful emotions, can be two sides of the same coin. They say indifference, not hatred, is the opposite of love.

Wuthering Heights is so nuanced. Every time I read that I felt differently about the characters.
no, thankfully i'm much better. and that's pretty shallow. here i am, opening a thread about finding a guy with a good PERSONALITY, and you..tsk tsk
^ That's right!
Darcy is liked for his looks AND his personality. He has this taciturn charm about him.
Now....what would Queer know about Giselle's personality? That she appears to be amiable eye candy? Or her intelligence.......hmm, her intelligence in pursuing modeling as a career. One does have to know what swimsuits look best on them.
Oh how quickly you catty girls judge. Gisele Bundchen's poems in portuguese about nature, flowers, climate change and tenderness are what have truly opened my heart to her kind self. She is this warm motherly person inside, no matter how tight her cute little bottom looks. And that is what makes me want to.. hmm like her until breakfast time, when i shall make her chai and anday.

^exactly. all he's concerned with is looks, WE are not. this isn't a robert pattinson appreciation thread, it's a thread about edward cullen, the character, not the actor.
They exist ... I found mine :D By "they" ... i mean guys with a good personality. Mine has a great one mA. He is interesting, understanding -has an open mind, kind, generous, fun luving, caring, devoted,........ basically would do anything for me. I could go on and on but I'll stop before I make people vom. lol
Did I mention that he is good looking to boot??
overall in my opinion he is better than Edward Cullen or Jacob....
Side note to Marwah: I personally am more of a team Jacob girl myself. lol.
I can't picture anyone else as Darcy. Hmm.....maybe Johnny Depp. I have a crush on him as well. He tends to play quirky roles....but I think he could pull it off.

that's very sweet :-) that does give some sign of hope!
and i tried, but i just can't choose between the two lol.
hmm... let's see what else is popular... the war on terror, mindless celebrities, fast food, reality tv........
Anyway, back to my point. A book for teenagers full of fantasy and idealism. You're not going to find that in real life.
firstly, those books haven't killed people, they haven't made anyone fat, they're popular for good reasons. anyway, that's enough of stating the obvious.
secondly, just because fantasy isn't your cup of tea, doesn't mean it isn't others'. fantasy books, movies are among my favorites.
thirdly, i'm not trying to find my own little twilight world in real life. the fantasy aspect of the book is not the object of discussion here.
marwah, have you ever come across similar fantasy lit that goes under the broad umbra of mills and boons? i have a feeling you will like the men in them.
clearly our obviouses don't agree. mills and boon was the height of popularity at one time too. as was Austen. it's called pop culture.
you are still missing my point. i'm not talking about the fantasy in terms of vampires etc. the characters, their interactions etc are not aimed at adults who have lived and experienced. it's idealism and purism for children who have not yet experienced those emotions or relationships.

i've heard of it but i haven't read any of their novels yet.
