**Updated at: 2320 PST, Sunday, March 28, 2010 LAHORE: A civil judge on Sunday sent former MNA of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Atta Qureshi, and his son to judicial remand in connection with an alleged torture faced by a traffic warden.
Atta Qureshi and his son Nasir Qureshi appeared before the Civil Judge Multan Adnan Mehdi, who shifted both father and son to jail on judicial remand.
It may be reminded here that former MNA and his family members had made an attempt to stop Geo team from reporting the incident, in which a traffic warden was subjected to torture.
They had also tried to snatch the camera.

ISLAMABAD: Additional DG FIA Ahmad Riaz Shaikh has been arrested from courtroom and sent to Adiala jail after the six-member bench of the Supreme Court headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry, restored his conviction in a corruption case for five years imprisonment and Rs 20 million fine.
PPP secretary information Fouzia Wahab while talking to Geo News said Ahmed Riaz has served his conviction and PPP will file an appeal against the decision.
He was taken into custody from the courtroom as ordered by Supreme Court, Geo News reported.
According to the details, six-member bench of SC restored the conviction of Ahmed Riaz Sheikh and ordered NAB to seize his assets and submit report within three days.
On Monday, SC gave the bureaucracy 24 hours to explain the appointment of Ahmed Riaz Sheikh in the FIA in violation of its verdict that had revoked the National Reconciliation Ordinance.**

LAHORE: SSP Operations Lahore Chaudhry Shafique suspended four constables, a sub-inspector and SHO for allegedly mistreating MNA of Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) Malik Riaz after stopping him on a security picket, Geo News reported Tuesday.
Talking to Geo News, SSP Operations Chaudhry Shafique said Malik Riaz was en route to Chief Minister House, when he was stopped him there for 20 minutes and police mistreated him besides searching him.
Taking notice of the incident on Malik Riaz’s complaint, the police personnel were suspended.

SC seeks details of PML-N MPs’ degrees from PU

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Tuesday directed Punjab University to file by April 12 the academic records of two PML-N lawmakers from Bhakkar, to resolve a controversy over claims that their graduation degrees are fake.
A bench comprising Justice Mian Shakirullah Jan, Justice Rahmat Hussain Jafferi and Justice Tariq Parvez was hearing two separates petitions challenging the graduation degrees of PML-N MNA Rasheed Akbar Nawani and MPA Saeed Akbar Nawani from PP-49.
The degrees of both lawmakers have been challenged by voters, who have also asked the court to allow them to file more documents to validate their claims.

The problem with Pakistanis is they can not differentiate between the Courts and individuals. Just like you all consider the convicted criminal a God, you consider the CJ a demon. Problem is that he controls and represents the court systems.
You PPP supporters are very quick to blame others for the faults of your leaders and do not give credit where credit is due.

PML-Q’s Ch. Shafaat has challenged Jameel Malik’s NA membership in the Lahore High Court (LHC) after Dunya News broke the news about having fake information in his national ID card and foreign passport.
It is maintained in the petition that Jameel Malik fraudulently obtained the nationality of Holland. For getting the said nationality, he filled wrong information in the passport about her parents’ names and date of birth. Dunya News exposed in a report that NA member Jameel Malik’s date of birth and parents names in the foreign passport were different from national ID card. Jameel Malik was elected on PML-N’s ticket in 2008 general elections. He received 75,200 votes against 69,100 votes of Rehman Naseer Chaudhry.

Personal life? I am sorry. Last I remember there was a difference between writing down ones fathers name differently and getting millions of rupees written off. That is corruption that the PPP is famous for.
