14 Countries on U.S's shyt list

Pakistan is one of the 14 countries (all of them being Muslim nations with the exception of Cuba) listed with TSA, and passengers traveling to U.S from these places will be screened. How does this make any sense?
Any moron who wants to blow himself up will not wait 16 hours to reach U.S- he will do it on the plane. Just like this Nigerian kid who tried to do it as soon as the plane landed. Similarly, any terrorist will blow up the bomb in the plane or even as soon as he’s at the airport. How will this make anything better?

U.S. tightens passenger screening for 14 countries

ST..JOHNS (CBC) - U.S.-bound air travellers from 14 nations the U.S. considers to be sponsors of terrorism or “countries of interest” began facing tougher screening measures on Monday, prompted by the attempt to bomb a plane flying to Detroit last month.

The new rules mean that “every individual flying into the U.S. from anywhere in the world travelling from or through nations that are state sponsors of terrorism or other countries of interest will be required to go through enhanced screening,” the U.S. Transportation Security Administration said in a statement on Sunday.

The U.S. State Department lists Cuba, Iran, Sudan and Syria as state sponsors of terrorism. The countries of interest include Afghanistan, Algeria, Iraq, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Somalia and Yemen.

Passengers from those countries will now be subject to enhanced screening techniques, including body scans, pat-downs and a thorough search of carry-on luggage.

The TSA also announced that passengers on U.S.-bound international flights will be subject to enhanced screen technologies and random screening.

Airports were also directed to increase “threat-based” screening of passengers who may be acting in a suspicious manner.

The U.S. government also added dozens of people to its terrorist watch and no-fly lists, a crackdown that comes as President Barack Obama prepares to meet Tuesday with his team of advisors about the state of national security.

The security measures follow the attempt to detonate an explosive on a U.S.-bound flight from Amsterdam on Christmas Day.

Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, a 23-year-old Nigerian man, is accused of trying to ignite the bomb on the Northwest Airlines flight. Officials said he has told U.S. investigators he received training and instructions from al-Qaeda operatives in Yemen.

On Sunday, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown said full-body scanners will be introduced in Britain’s airports.

Last week, the Dutch government announced it will begin using full-body scanners for flights heading to the United States.

Re: 14 Countries on U.S's shyt list

maybe fidel is a mooozlem secretly, he got the beard you know.

Re: 14 Countries on U.S's shyt list

US treat's Muslims as "terrorist", police in US stop's you like 10 times a day just for having a beard, Muslims are on "terror-list" if they have sympathy for the Muslims suffering in Iraq/Afghan & Pakistan. Those who try to protest are locked up and sent to Guntanmo Bay for 10 yrs, for having "extremist" thinking.

Only "Moderate Muslims" (who hardly practice Islam, drinks, don't protest against the so called "War on Terror", don't sympathise with Muslims who are being ruthlessly killed by the Yanks") are OK in US, meaning they are not being monitored by FBI and are not on "terror-list".

And yet, the very same Muslims love to live in that **** land, why? Because of $$$$$$.....

Re: 14 Countries on U.S's shyt list

you forgot ...eats pork, fornicates and gambles.

That's way too stretched out.

And if Pakistan wasn't so busy being bombed, getting more and more corrupted by day, didn't have morons running it, and offered better opportunities such as education (paying a fortune to get your kids into the best schools), healthcare (umm, yeah, no comments) and jobs (no rishwat-khori, and oh you must know so and so to get anything done) then maybe these Pakistanis who live in U.S for $$$$ will go back.

Re: 14 Countries on U.S's shyt list

^^ Well, last time i checked bombing in Pakistan or WoT started in 2001. Before this Pakistan was a great country and there was hardly any bomb blast. But still Pakistanis were moving out.......

Pakistan today would've been a far better place, if the educated Pakistanis had lived in Pakistan in 60s, 70s, 80s, & 90s. That was the time when Pakistan needed such talented people and had they been there, then today the likes of Ghaddari wouldn't be in Power!

But Pakistanis showed their true colours, left the Nation for few more $$$$$s...

do u know of the situation in Pakistan in the 80s and 90s? the sectarian violence in Punjab and sindh mostly, and the law and order situation in Karachi?

PS and in 60s 70s 80s and 90s you had people like Zia, Zulfiqar, Benazir, Nawaz and Yahya in power. not really much better.

PS2: dollars...and..pounds ;)

Re: 14 Countries on U.S's shyt list

iShaz, where in pakistan are you posting from?

shikarpur

^:omg:

Did you live through Shariff’s and Benazir’s ‘era’ in the 90s? Is that really something you would term as errr… ‘great’? Maybe that explains why they were kicked out of their own country. Even as a kid, I remember not being allowed to step out of my relatives’ homes because there were shootings, blasts on everyday basis. I remember the first Ramadan after Benazir took over, Karachi was a warzone- the only term I can use is ‘traumatizing’ for what our families had to go through.

People during those times took off to other countries probably more than ever before.

Re: 14 Countries on U.S's shyt list

Yes, I was in Pakistan till 2005..... i never used to hear about bomb blasts......no one used to stop me going out....people were getting on with their lives as usual....

Yes there was violence & the scenes in karachi were not so nice....but that doesn't mean you leave your country. People in Pakistan didn't started shooting at you out of blue.

Violence erupts in almost every country.....look at the history in europe... ww2....their citizens never left their country, they actually stayed in and helped their country when it needed them, while Pakistanis left for the sake of more money.

Re: 14 Countries on U.S's shyt list

ishaz your post #3 here is grossly exaggerated. ive been here in amreeka for a very long time and have never experienced any kind of discrimination.

u did not hear of bomb blasts? in 90s? wow
karachi was 'not so nice' ..ever read stats?
european citizens did not leave after ww2?
come to us and canada and find out for yourself how many left.

anyhoo, dunn apply to me, wuz not born in Pak
so yeah all u ppl who left in 60s 70s 80s and 90s
(and even 2000s..until 2005 that is)
you guys are traitors and stuff :D

liar, do u remember the pizza hut incidence? :D

Yes, I totally believe that part. Because judging by your posts here, I can tell you live in a hole, in Pakistan and abroad, hence the nonsensical responses.

This might be the future… of airport security in the US

The screening is for flights originating from these countries. So passengers from these countries will be scrutinized before they actually get on the plane.

Or if they have connecting flights…they will be searched again before they board planes from connecting airports towards USA

The Muslim Terrorists are after USA and thus they won’t blow up European planes to kill Europeans.](“TSA: Enhanced screening for people flying to U.S. from certain nations - CNN.com”)

I agree with what she is saying, it IS RACIAL profiling…it is unfair that u should be targeted jst coz ur 18-28 Muslim man…it is only going to create more hate..it will never end like this..it will never end peacefully… it is so sad :frowning:

hahahahahahahahahaha :rotfl: :hehe:

Have you forgotten the turmoil of the 1960’s?
Bangladesh Leaving Pakistan?
Balochi Rebellions in the 1970s?
Afghan War in the 1980’s?
Corrupt Democratic Governments and Sunni-Shia Violence, MQM violence in 1990s?

Pakistan was on borrowed time. Even if 9/11 had not happened, the Taliban in Afghanistan would have slowly started to propogate their hate, oppression, terrorism into Pakistan. And unlike before that Pakistan funneled them into Kashmir to fight India. Given India’s growing power, that was no longer possible and thus great turmoil within Pakistan.

Confronting these animals is in our security interest.

who listens to overly dolled up chicas waxing lyrical on serious stuff on this channel? any channel that gives any credence to anne coulter is less series than cartoon network in my view.
