i know that chaudhry people are mostly all proud show offs even if htey don't have a dime to their name. and i know that when you tell them this they get so angry. can't take it and go mad because they have an ego the size of central asia.

yeah my dad is really proud of the fact that he is a chaudhry. he is always like meh theh chauhdry banda eh. assi teh isi tarah karde ne. saying this to my mom when she sais why did you do this or syou s houldn't have done that.LOL.

those are forgiveable things.
rising to an occasion and being proud of one's back ground for the right thing, is a commendable thing.
but being puffy over empty glory is not especially when people feel entitled to do, all that they demand or seek to obtain by commanding others.
none the less, the reason for the query is not to let down zaat holders, if you will, regardless of how they misuse their zaathood.
the purpose of the thread is, to explore what do we know of these, our own and others' zaats, by name sakes, that a) set us all apart & b) how much of the histories of these zaats are we accurately aware of, to share with our younger generation and transfer well deserved pride associated with them & hopefully not let the younger generation act or feel entitled to easy work or flattering favors, merely because they are born in a family which bears a certain given zaat.

My family is Khan. My father used to be obsessive about it, but thank God he got over it. I hate the jahaalat associated with caste. People go as far as keeping their castes pure by never allowing kids to marry out of their caste and whatnot, and nowhere does it dictate that in the Quran. tsk tsk.
My phuppis and khalas married into Mandokhels and Afridis. Its all the same.

ok i dont know this might offend a few peeps but this is my observation. my family are Chuadary and yeah we have big ego's and can be hot headed:D but also with tht, we have strong family Values, but i have seen with lower casts they dont have the same family values. they just kinda go with the flow....
and when a lower caste becomes rich they become all posh all of a sudden, lol
i say believe in Islam and forget the cast system.....:)

zaats lead u to discrimination, and who cares how did they originated? these zaats are centuries old concept, and y would in this world u be proud of something that ur great great great great great great great great parents did like 700 years ago (reffering to Rajputs cuz they think they are super brave they were rajas, tuwanaz always remain proud sof their land which was not earned btw, which was given to them by their english masters cuz of their so called loyalty, Mughals cuz of the metal knowledge their forfathers possesed)
and yeah i really duno y choudharies are so proud and y the heck in the world they marry their kids to choudharies only, and same goes for tuwanaz. Y sayed's are so proud cuz they belong to Prophet (saw) family and only few of em actually practice islam.
Btw y dont we discuss marasis, chungars and musalis, y only these hifi zaats?
y in the world we cant be just muslims, only muslims.

My dad did not registered my name with my zaat, only my name, and my last name is my dad's name, and i dont care how my zaat originated and m not even proud of wat my ancestors achieved.

after u tell me the definition of lower cast, please think logically that wat gives u values is Islam not ur zaat, so if a particular group or family is not following islamic values it means they are not good muslims it doesnt have to do anything with their zaat.
after mentioning wat choudharies do and wat lower cast ppl do how can u mention that believe in Islam and forget cast system. m not arguing but please we really need to change our mind sets that lower cast exists and they do this kinda stuff and we are higher zaat and we have family values, it is against islam.

like i said it's my observation when i went to pak
, my dad mostly owns the land in our village and some of the peeps who live on tht land are from a lower caste e.g. massali, khumars (cant remember the rest)now they went around doing nothing all day adults and kids....where as my dad made sure me and my brothers used to go masjid everyday and school and we knew our sabak......and i used to look out of the window(i was 11 back then) and watched all these kids doing nothing all day there parents never even used to send there kids to the masjid which was paid for. all they had to do was send there kids there twice aday........
now i went back to pak 4 years back and those same peeps have no life,it's very sad most of which go around smoking weed allday and have guns and the familys who have their sons in western countries act like they are all royal all of a sudden....
beggers have a cast too do u see them going around practising there religion?
no coz if they did then they wouldnt be begging and sending there children out begging money from strangers...
this is my obsevation of what i have seen, i didnt say i agreed with it. and tht's why i said i believed in just following islam (and having an education) tht way we cant go wrong....

first of all u didn define a "lower cast".
2nd the stuff u mentioned has nothing to do with zaat, believe me, its about education and awareness, as i said earlier m not arguing or i dont want to prove u wrong, but please, the word "lower cast" is really offensive and by all means its against islam, i hope u just used it but i dont mean it, and choudharies are not higher zaat even, their history is worst then musalis and khumars and chungars but cuz they are rich and have alot of land and they have important positions in government thats y the history thats told is biased.
musalis have been slaves for years, no education no nothing, and about their history wat u hear is biased aswell, i hope u wont use word low cast again :)
ps. our own servants were musalis, and their generations have been serving my generations (nothing to be proud of) and trust me the whole family was practising muslim, i swear to Allah m not just saying to prove myself right , they used to send their kids to the free school (kids werent good at study tho).
and its 21st century, just believe in Islam, and believe in facts of science, zaat is nothing except just a family name.

ahan.. I see this thread is heading towards typical stereotype nuisance of lower caste upper castes in Pakistan or anywhere else. 
We no longer live in 5th centuary, when these “lower castes” or “upper castes” were associated with certain trades. The whole concept of UPPER & LOWER caste is against everything Islam is about.
now back to the topic, there are literally 100’s of castes and sub castes. Some of them have common origin i’e some are sub-castes of ARYANs (not ARAYN) etc etc.

im chaudhry, and i gotta say i gota a big head, haha
but alhamdulillah, im practising and i dont look down upon other castes, beacuse its against the teachings of islam, but the thing is, even thought i come from a wealthy background, goin back yeaaarsss.. my dad has always treated the poorer people, or those classed as 'lower castes' in our village with respect, and helps them with education and deen.
Once people become more aware of the teachings of islam, and our beloved prophet pbuh, pakistan will be a much fairer place. ok, the caste system will take alooot of time to get rid of, but eventually we'll get there, but i gotta say, i live in the u.k, where they beilive in equality blah blah, but even people of english origin discriminate in terms of class..
