I thought all Sikhs were Punjabis - Hindu Punjabis to begin with, and later became Sikhs. Forgive my ignorance - what is FATA tribal area? Where is it located? (I can google it, but getting first hand information from folks who are knowledgeable is always more interesting for me.
PS - when we meet in the cricket forums, let us put on our war paints and go at it, shall we :)

FATA - Federally Administrative Tribal Area -- The most dangerous area on earth for enemies! Its on the border of Afghanistan and Pakistan within NWFP aka Khyber - Pakhtoon - Khuwah Province!
They have their own rules and laws called as JIRGAH and weapon is their jewel! They have home made weapon factories in those areas from where guns and bullets are illegally supplied to whole country at cheaper price!
They have many tribes in those areas, the main caste in those areas are Mahsood, Afridi, Yousuf -Zai amd many more! They are hardcore Muslims and true warriors ... They have given defeats to Englishmen, Russians , Hindus etc in the history!
Just because you have pathan or khan in your name does not mean you are a true pathan.
Moin Khan is not a pathan, Younus Khan most definitely is
Actor Feroz Khan is a pathan and he looks like one. Dilip Kumar is a pathan too.
Yusuf Pathan does n't look pathan to me. And it isn't just about complexion but also facial features.
I could be wrong though
Whats wrong with Moin Khan ? Have you seen his aggressions? just because he spekas urdu does not means he is not Pathan!
The generation goes with father's name and if father is pathan but mother is not pathan does not mean the children will not be pathans! They might not look like pathans but genetically they are pathans!
Its been 150+ years for Pakhtoons living in india, in those years they are all mixed up... but one thing for sure is the Pathsn blood! you can smell that blood while its burning! ...
These Feroz, Dilp are direct pathans, but if you look their generation, they are not closer to pathans e,g, SRK!
Sir this is what I said:-! Urdu speakers have hundred's of different castes depending on the areas they migrated from india or part of Pakistan! His parents must be Muhajirs from india, but they are pathans!
You will be surprised to know that in some areas in india, pathans families do speak pashtu! but almost all they speak Urdu!
^ For this kind of comment, all I can say is: "Pathans have no boundary, no religion, no sect, no gender and no language ... this is just a human behavior, and any one can be a pathan at some specific time" ...
Like I always used to say " Every human has a pathan inside and every pathan has a human inside"
I personally think Yusuf Pathan is batting too low down the order and not being properly utilised by india (cf. Razzaq). Batting at 7 (or 5-down) does not give him much opportunity to showcase his talent. He needs to come ahead of Yuvraj and Dhoni
Going by your logic again, all the Hindus and Sikhs live in Lai Kotla Agencies(Thira)are Pathans because they might speak only Pushto and for them other languages might seem alien languages.
A person's genre is not defined by the language he/she speaks but by the ancestral origins.

Absolutely, 150% percent agreed. I would definitely move him ahead of Dhoni.
As for Yuvraj, if wickets fall too fast, keep Pathan at 6. If frontline batsmen 1-4 do their job, move Pathan to 5. (Idea stolen from Sharabee without permission, who originally suggested a fluid batting order)
I don't care about cricket nor about irfan or whichever pathan. Just stumbled on this thread and wanted to say that having khan in your name doesn't mean that you are pathan. My grandfather had khan in his name but he was a punjabi jatt. None of his children have khan in their names.
