It was interesting reading the thread from 2 years ago. Didn't see anything negative in what Ravage stated. He expressed an opinion - that Irfan and Yusuf are Gujaratis, and not Pathan by lineage. His being a moderator on other forums have no bearing on his expressing an opinion.
Hope the moderator position is returned to Ravage (in case he wants it).
By the way, Pataudi is the greatest Pathan cricketeer of all time. Anyone who disagrees will have their moderator position removed.

The great Mansur Ali Khan of Pataudi. Captain of Indian team from ~ 1962 to 1969, then from 1974-75. Lost his right eye in a car accident. Changed his stance from 2-eyed to 1-eyed stance. Great covers fielder. Changed attitude of Indian fielders by example. Wadekar inherited a sharp team in 1970 and went on to wind 3 series (West Indies 1970, England 1971 and England 1972-73).

Khaaaaan's explanation was more appropriate for the younger generation - I can see the "Saifoooooo" connection made a greater impact!
Both Saif Ali Khan and Soha Ali Khan are my favorites - after all they are Pataudi's kids.

Well... they are Pathans not Gujrati! Living in Gujrat does not make them Gujrati! period!
History: Pathans had migrated from Peshawar, NWFP and Afghanistan areas (some of them e,g. are Dlip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Feroz Khans etc) In india pathans are spred all ovre the country, most of them are
The biggest tribe among Khans is Yousuf-Zai pathans! Rest includes Afridi, Hasan-Zai etc!
Pathans are commonly known for their aggressive nature, color, looks and body. They use Khan as family name most of the time, but in some cases they use the word Pathan which is given to them by localsl, (just like in Pakistani Sindh the term 'Pathans' is used as family name )
Most of the time the pathans keeps their generation unmixed marrying in the same caste, but if if they married with local indians we get different features in the generation (e.g. Shah Rukh Khan, his father was from Peshawar and he married to local Madrasi woman and hence we got SRK dark version)
Basically Irfan and Yosuf are pathans but living in Gujrat! we ca see their pathani aggression some times!

No Raj Kapoor family is hindu Pathans from Peshawar! Raj Kapoor was born in Peshawar!
in fact, Raj Kapoor, Dilp Kumar and SRK's father (a congressman ) lived very closed to each other in Peshawar! Still have roots and extended families in Peshawar!

You are correct - Saif has made rapid strides in his acting.
Sharmila Tagore is a wonderful actress. Loved her in Aradhana, Daag, Mausam, Khushboo (cameo appearance), Amar Prem and several other movies. OK- dont want to derail this thread too much.

You will be more amazed to hear that we have not only Hindu pathans but SIKH pathans... yes you heard it right Sikh Pathans and they **ARE **living in not only in cities but in the FATA tribal areas!!!
