Mystic Papaya, nahi, ishaara is up to debate. I asked her to clarify by commenting in the other thread and her comments there were quite different. Like I said earlier. Armughal, surprisingly, gave the exact comment in both threads...

You know why? Because the two issues are no different. If a woman admitted her previous sins to her husband is no different than a husband admitting those same sins to his wife. And what I found surprising is that there are many who voiced more against the woman when she said she did not regret her activities. Whereas, when the man says he does not regret his activities, people like Mamaof3 shrugged and said its natural for them to shag around before marriage.

Then why not shrug at the girl as well?

Well, the females should think, why do they accept such behavior from their husbands/boyfriends.

This is what I'm trying to figure out by posting these threads. Furthermore, I don't get it why if the female does the SAME THING, she's given a lot more blame and heat than would a man get.

A woman who admits she's had sex before marriage = whore, inexcusable, unforgiveable, slut, etc etc.
A man who admits he's had sex before marriage = natural, excusable, forgiveable.

I don't get WHY the difference exists?

its been this way since time immemorial. In nature too. The males of the species (MOST species anyway) go out to hunt. the female of the species stay home to raise the offspring. The females have to compete for the best hunters and the best hunters are the ones who make their beds, well, wherever they want....there arent many species that have monogomous males. Since we're human, we have rules that we've imposed on them but the age-old practices are still there.

Its not fair really. I mean making love is an enjoyable thing. I can say this without worry but only cause I'm married. If I made this statement (being female) while I was single, I'd have a really nasty label.

I did go to college with this gal who loved sex and made no bones about it at all... I did admire her in a way for standing up for herself and what she wanted - no relationships, just pure sex for the enjoyment she got from it. That baffled me, because I see it as the most personal gift you could give to someone you love but she saw it more as physical exercise/release/relaxation/enjoyment. To each his or her own. Its not for us to judge....the only prob I've seen in this thread here is when there is dishonesty.

Excusable and fine? No I think its very wrong, the idea of sex-for-fun. Many see nothing wrong with it though, esp here in america, esp the college age crowd. If thats what they're into and what they're ok with, they should never lie about to anyone they want to be with let alone a spouse. I guess growing up here and being a non-desi, I grew up accepting of the idea sex-for-fun because its so widespread. That doesnt mean that I'd practice it, that I think its ok or that I'd let my boys learn that attitude!

so my question is, why you ever mentioned to be a virgin anywhere on that board?...by doing so you give even more credit to that state of fact...you seem to fight for gender equality but in the meantime fall flat on the old stereotypes by claiming virginity and engagment...sorry but that seem so hypocrite.....

in most species females mate with the best male availbale…and guess what from one year to the other it is very likely that the best male change!! hence most females mate with many males during their lives…also because if you mate only with a sterile your chances of getting pregnant are very low…so multiplying partners are natural for females…maybe less in numnber…but still give me an example of primate where females are mating with same partner all life:rolleyes: except than some humans:D

I don’t think I understood how you made that connection? If I say I’m getting engaged, etc, then how is that me promoting gender differences that I don’t think should exist? Like, are you thinking, I’m saying “Hi, I’m engaged, and yes, men should go ahead and shag around but girls should not?”
