Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

What would your reaction be or how should you react to a friend who admits carrying out a calculated murder, Not In A Defensive Approach. More from the likes of revenge.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

Details please.
If it's a psycho killer then I'm calling the cops.

If its a friend who killed her rapist for revenge, or killed her spouse for revenge after several years of horrible abuse, then I'd help her hide the body.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

2 friends take a stroll to a lesser populated area , are approached by 2 muggers who come at them with machetes , manage to turn the tables , hold down the muggers ................. This is the part that perplexes me, while they did disarm the men, they could have let them go or simply knocked them out, but, they went on to murder them..brutally..inhumanely.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

Thats crazy. Is this a real story? Do you really know the guys?

I wouldn't know what to do. I'd want to tell the cops but what if that psycho comes after me and my family for revenge?

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

^ mmmm.. maybe they were still in the shock of it all? Maybe adrenaline was still coursing through their bodies and their protective instinct to save their own lives was still running a muck? Maybe they weren't still in their right minds and just wanted to feel safe? I suggest a psych evaluation.

Since this person is supposed to be my friend, i'd wait till the psych evaluation and stay by their side till then. If proven guilty, astala vista baby. If not, time for some therapy.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

They're not psycho's.
They're regular guy's.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

Incredibly smart ..

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

Seemed like the most logical approach. Everyone is innocent until proven guilty.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

Society isn't tolerant to crime anymore, rightly so, but is it ethical for us to decide the measures of punishment ?

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

911

Given what the circumstances were, he/she will have my sympathy (or not) but I'll definitely report him/her.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

Why arent things black/white anymore?

Murder=Call the cops
No Murder=Invite for coffee

is that so hard to understand? is the human race over rationalizing things these days?!

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

That's the thing though. We, you and i, dont decide measures of punishment. That's what law and rules are for. If we left punishment down to the people, mob justice would get even with things easily enough. From the earliest days, rules and law was set amongst people. Villages had the "punchayat" system and now there is governments and laws. Taking that into consideration and also the original post, i wouldn't want to believe this friend of mine was guilty right off the bat. If she/he has earned the title of being my friend, then i will support them until proven guilty. Of course following law all along, they would have to be turned in and let the right procedures be followed.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

So what was the intention behind the murder? Thats what you need to know.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

I agree with you in the case of adrenaline rush from defending oneself. But OP said "calculated murder, Not in a defensive approach. More from the likes of revenge". So that's why I would contact police

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder …

I would ask where he hid the body first. Show me the body first so I can believe your sh*t. Too many people these days think violence is cool. It’s not and if you are going to tell a story like that to me, better have a body to show. :snooty:

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

One of my close friends went in for murder - he was out after one year, found not guilty. Admitted to a group of us that he did for revenge for a dodgy deal that went bad. Nice bloke though.

Hiding a crime is also a crime. If he get caught, and told the cops that you also knew about it, then you will be charged too. Do what Theorist is saying. That way, you would have an excuse in your defense that you never believed the guy, and did ask him to prove his claims

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

Knock him/her out with a belan on the head. Then call the police.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

Law has been reduced to guidelines. We all are moderately law abiding until placed in a like situation. On the line of "Easier said than done", many of us think we would have made a certain approach to a set of conditions, but that's after rational thinking, what would you do on an impulse ? That's when your sense of reasoning is clouded by emotions, depending on the sort of person you are. In this case, it was more revenge than rage. It was not for them to decide.

Re: Your Reaction To A Friend Who Has Committed A Murder ...

May God never give anyone a friend like you. Haha.
