Re: Your ethnic background

hahaha very funny man but beware of Cheetahs!
anyhow Gujjars migrated with Ephtalites as sevants/clients in 5th Century A. D. some say they are Khazzars of Armenia/Black Sea region…so they may be Turks because Khazzars are considered Turks…

Re: Your ethnic background

Ever noticed these (below) letters in some cities' names?

GujranWAla" "Gujra" "Gujrat" "Qila Gujjar singh" "Kala Gujjran" "Indian Gujrat State" "Gurjistan In Rasia, etc.

There also many cities named after the sub-castes.

Gu*rjar is the word which most (Gujjar) Indians use. Similiarly, Goja*r is the word used by (Gujjars) in Georgia and nearby Central Asian countries. Gurjar is the Sanskrit word. Gojar is what the Central Asians use (they may have a few other derivatives of the word). Gojar is the base word, from which all others were derived.

Re: Your ethnic background

Any relation with this Gujjar…

Re: Your ethnic background

Salaam brother,

 I’m a Gakkar Raja from a village called Panchore near Dina (near Jhelum)in Punjab. It’s good to see someone representing the Raja’s as people always seem to criticising us. I agree with you on the military bit, more Raja’s have the nishan-e-haider than anyother ethnicity. Both my grandads and so many of their cousins were in the army or navy and served our country. Even today I have cousins in the military.

Re: Your ethnic background

Re: Your ethnic background

I think it's important to know where u came from so u can pass on ur heritage to ur kids and so on...otherwise oneday, everyone wud say like, yea i'm from that country over there, i duno wot it's called...it's a shame really if we loose touch...sure we r muslims first...that is our religion...but it's not bad if to know where ur ancestors came from...i find it quite intriguing actually...and i'm sad cos i wud love to know more about my roots...only recently have i been trying to figure out where my parents' grandparents and their parents so on were born/raised etc...this is our only connection to them...

Is there anyway u can find out...like from ur name/caste...i get really confused about this stuff lol...well i do know that mum's side is kashmiri and my dad's side, well they r punjabi but i don't know more than that...i think i read somewhere someone wrote arian, i think that's wot my dad's side is...does that mean farmers or something? This stuff is really interesting to me :)
