i love my inlaws.
for my sil's engagement, even though we wont be able to visit pakistan for it, my MIL is still making an outfit for me. so sweet.

My MIL appoligized 4 her rude attitude on r wedding 2 my parents n I really appreciate it bc it's not easy 2 accept ur mistake n then actually ask 4 forgiveness especially 4 mum in laws :)

My parents-in-law's anniversary is on my birthday. They called to wish me before I called to wish them ie the midnight wish.

After my nikkah when I was leaving back to go to New York, mom -in-law made me sit down with her and explained to me, the beauty of marriage. The next day when I was leaving she started crying in front my my parents, and kissed me so many times on my cheeks in front of my parents. Also seeing her cry, made me cry and she wiped away my tears.

That meant soo much for me. My hubby was raised in the arms of a queen. =)

Not all in-laws are bad right? Let’s share our positive in law stories here

Here’s mine:
It was our wedding day, obviously it had been a long day with the ceremonies starting at 7 in the morning. By the time all the 700 guests finished lunch it was 3. Then we visited a couple of temples before finally reaching hubby’s home. Most of his close relatives were there and all of us were chatting in the living room. I suddenly noticed my MIL was trying to get my attention. She called me inside and whispered “If you want to use the bathroom go ahead and use the one inside. I know you’ve had a long day and may be feeling embarrassed to go to the loo in front of everyone, so I called you inside”
Though this feels very funny now, I was sooo touched at that time. Though we have our occasional difefrences, because of that incident I always know that my MIL is a very caring and considerate woman at heart.

my MIL has been very nice to me esp during my perhai phase ..and even when her relatives used to come at her place she’d let me study in peace and flatly tell them ..that I have an important exam coming up ..so I wont be able to come and sit with them for long

Everybody has differences of opinions. Heck we even argue so much with our moms but that doesnt transform them into evil beings…likewise goes for MILs. They aren’t our soulmates…quit expecting them to be one ..neither are they our mothers. If we just accept this fact, life would be so much easier

Hearing everyones story makes me smile :)
We should appreciate the goodness of life and maybe ignore all the bitterness.

For those wondering why this thread is such a sausage-fest. Son-in-laws are knights in shining armour (shining tind in my case) who come to rescue your daughter. They should be treated with the utmost respect and dignity. Generally it is a good idea to revere them. Daughter-in-laws on the other hand are pure evil baby snatching vixens. You agree to give them your son because that's the only way you will have a grandson to carry forth your seed.

There is a very very good chance, and i'm willing to put $20 on it, that she complains about you to any or both of the other dil's. Not trying to incite a mil/dil war, just that i've been unfortunate enough to see how females roll.

Actually, I'm only engaged so she hasn't really had a chance to interact much with me thus lessening the chances of her having anything to complain about me. I really am counting on not giving her reasons anytime in the future either :/. Maybe I just have very unrealistic expectations from my relationship with her.
