Not all in-laws are bad right? Let’s share our positive in law stories here
Here’s mine:
It was our wedding day, obviously it had been a long day with the ceremonies starting at 7 in the morning. By the time all the 700 guests finished lunch it was 3. Then we visited a couple of temples before finally reaching hubby’s home. Most of his close relatives were there and all of us were chatting in the living room. I suddenly noticed my MIL was trying to get my attention. She called me inside and whispered “If you want to use the bathroom go ahead and use the one inside. I know you’ve had a long day and may be feeling embarrassed to go to the loo in front of everyone, so I called you inside”
Though this feels very funny now, I was sooo touched at that time. Though we have our occasional difefrences, because of that incident I always know that my MIL is a very caring and considerate woman at heart.
but I also agree with Nomi...spice makes Life1 goes around ;)
my MIL has been very nice to me esp during my perhai phase ..and even when her relatives used to come at her place she'd let me study in peace and flatly tell them ..that I have an important exam coming up ..so I wont be able to come and sit with them for long :)
Everybody has differences of opinions. Heck we even argue so much with our moms but that doesnt transform them into evil beings...likewise goes for MILs. They aren't our soulmates...quit expecting them to be one ..neither are they our mothers. If we just accept this fact, life would be so much easier :D
:) I liked this tale. You have other incidents to relate? Tell us more :)

My husband's granddad was ill. He lived in my city. I would visit him at the hospital when he was admitted. My MIL came over from her city to take care of him day and night. So I'd go there after a long day at the hospital daily and see him, spend time with him before heading home. Ammi would be SO concerned about my welfare. She would insist I lie down and rest, she would fuss over me. I had to insist she remain lying comfortably and that I was fine sitting but she wasnt happy until we were both lounging on the pull out sofa. She wanted me to lie down and relax but I wouldnt let her , so this was our compromise.
Nana eventually passed away three months later. I will never forget how much love Ammi gave me during those days. There was noone else around but Nana and Ammi. Noone to show off to that she was treating me right. It was heartfelt and sincere from her side.
