Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
I don't know what the health system is like in the United States but I can very much assure you that in Britain no one is allowed to "play doctor." I know loads of nurses and physician's associates (PAs) who work as hard as doctors and are just as important to their professions and in fact, are the ones look after patients on a regular basis. Many work 15+ hour days. Arrogant and lazy? I think not. With all due respect, just because Desis worship doctors and view them as the end all, be all, it doesn't mean that the rest of the bloody world does or that other medical professionals are beneath them.
You stated that bella88's comment was insulting yet you don't find it insulting to imply that nurses are people who couldn't make it as doctors and are only in their profession for the money?
Preach sister preach!
Hehehehe lol
Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
Yes indeed. Nurses do all the 'leg work'. Much respect for them. Not everyone is cut out to be a nurse. My opinion is that any monkey can be a internal medicine practicing doctor. All you have to do is memorize greek sounding words. Logic/analytic/problem solving capabilities are absent in 9 out of 10 doctors you meet these days.
Atleast in the US doctors will not be making mad money like they used to. Insurance companies will squeeze every last penny to make bigger profit at the expense of doctors. Foresee lots of bankrupt doctors who won't be able to make payments on their loans. Another factor will be advancement of automation and even outsourcing to cheaper places for most commonly found diseases. Seeing a human doctor for common cold is as dumb as it gets. Send me to a computer with an inferential engine that will take my symptoms, vital signs and prescribe appropriate medicine and tests. Technology is already there and being used in Europe to save millions of dollars that US doctors spend in prescribing unnecessary tests.

A lot of khattay angoor around.

buahaha. greek sounding.
well honestly i don't know why there is a distinction between anesthesiologist and anesthetist, is it due to the risks involved in administering the anesthesia that makes the presence and supervision of anesthesiologist so necessary, though even doctors could commit errors.
Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
I don't see anything wrong with Obama care. I know lot of people who have benefited from this program.
Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
This thread has taken like 5 diff directions.
Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
Why are they waiting to start a family? If there is money coming into the household, they can work on their pregnancies now. Why wait if they want to have kids?
Again. It all boils down to the money the guy is making.
Not enough money, or time to take care of 2 adults and a child, when the wife can't take time off work and the husband must study full time.
Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
It's easier for engineers to get their own H1 visa not as easy as before but still doable. If that happens, the guy could work/ study at the same time.
Maybe most people answering posts here have been born and raised here. But there are many many Pakistani families with all types of qualifications who have come here and made it. And since they have less student loans etc. they start life relatively debt free. And I am talking about people who made it on their own, not sponsored by a spouse etc. There is this concept that Pakistani education, no matter what the degree is, is worthless. Not true for all cases. Engineers from Pakistan, if they have their degree from a recognized Pakistani university, and I am not talking about schools that are considered top ones in Pakistan, just recognized ones, then the guy is considered to have a bachelors degree and can do his masters here and get as good job. I have seen numerous people here who have done that.
Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
Thank you! Engineers make very good money especially the ones in IT. I know a CCIE guy who easily makes $300k. He is a network architect.
Switches course to Network Architect.

wouldn't be a bad idea. Their hours are pretty relaxed too. Most don't work more than 40 hours a week.

Not really liking programming anyway, so in University it’s either this or bio or engineering.
Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
It is probably the most fun one too. You can’t become a network architect right out of school though. You need to work at least five to ten years as a network engineer in network design and implementation to have enough experience or exposure. PM me if you want.

Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
Just look at the flaws ... Then thnik and decide if you will be able to compromise on his flaws ..
A big matter to consider here would be relocation to pakistan? If you dont want that, make sure he knows you are not willing to do so in any case.
As far as job is concerned, he will find a job in the uk...no matter what..good job or bad job but if a man knows his responsabilities then he will work.
Are you happy if he settle for lower jobs? Are you comfortable to know your husband could be a cab driver or shop assistant?...again if you are not ok with such scenario then avoid the rishta...
Re: Would you marry a man from Pakistan
