Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

matlab desis are like a dawa for you :)

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

DOn't be a hypo guys..be honest....if you were given the choice would you have picked Pakistan as a place of your birth? Don't bring your parents and all... just think about it...is Pakistan really all that what we are fed through bull****? It's a country full of dishonest people where money is everything, poor are ridiculed, there is a class system on a massive scale, education is not for all, child labor is rampant and exercised even by the so called fking educated desis including most of your relatives.

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

and those moderfker people including your and my relatives who justify child labor by saying they are "HELPING" them are worse than the murderers. They kill dreams and lives in a helping way. Until Pakistanis start taking care of their youth, there is no light at the end of tunnel. Pakistanis will always be cursed and will never even make their own rikshaws.

You play the hand you are dealt. You have no choice. Also, there is no guarantee that choosing a different life or a place of birth would preclude its inherent set of problems (divorced parents, peer pressure to try drugs, stds, bolimia, depression, general apathy and sloth -- see Jack Osbournce in his daddys tv show and you will what I am talking about).

What I find interesting about Pakistanis and poor people of other countries is that in other countries some people do try to change their lives. If you read BBC news, once every few weeks they have some story about Indian villagers doing something to better their lot. There was a story about indian villagers demanding their kids be taught English and another about a tutor who coaches handful of the poorest kids in beating the IIT entrance exam (this guy was accepted to Cambridge Uni but could not attend due to financial problems). In that respect, I admire Indians, especially the poor, who try very hard and develop indigenous solutions to solve their problems.

In Pakistan, there is no such spirit. Pakistanis find solace and courage in their religion and spirituality to endure lifes hardships just not change it. Some could argue that Feudalism is what is suffocating the lives of the poor and rural. Perhaps it is time that Pakistan saw reforms in that area.

Pakistan needs courage from its people and leaders. And that is what it boils down to -- a handful who will make tough decisions and take on special interest groups to help the poor.

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

i think one thing if we pakis started living here then america will turn iinto pak soon:D though i love to live here.
the thing is pakis don't have a nice system that can put people into jeopardy to change their lives.

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

FG like yourself I am a farang born who has no plans to move to Pakistan. Dunn get so serious, I am just bustin yer chops :P

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

lemme see, I was not born in pakistan so lemme check

divorced parents- hmmmmm they still live together but maybe its for show..
drugs- chck
stds’ check
bolimia- dunno what this, but if it is bulimia..check
depression- check
general apathy- check
sloth- chek

LI- come on man be real, wasn’t there soem study on depression in Pakistan just listed, and then s far as apathy and sloth goes..surely you cant be telling me that apathy and sloth is worse in US than in Pakistan.

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

Do you think this is true among Muslims in general?
I think the attitude that we only have to bardaasht everything, instead of actually trying to change and better yourself, simply becasue it's almost "sinful" to better yourself because this life is only temporary, just keeps ppl down..

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

Point is that there are NO guarantee that there wont be problems if you were born elsewhere.

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

yes i would

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

I wouldn't say it's "sinful" but you got the idea that this-life-is-temporary-and-afterlife-is-the-true-life philosophy keeps people from pursuring change or improvement.

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

LI, I amnot looking for a brain storming session on how to fix Pakis probs. I am only answering the thread's ques here.

Fraudz, no worries mate..I didn't blow up on your post. Just at the wrong place at the wrong time. lol

Re: Would you like to move (or move back) to Pakistan?

You wrote in your earlier post:

I was answering that question.

Getting on a soapbox and whinning Pakistan sucks boo-hoo is not a very interesting discussion unless you want to look beyond the surface.
