If I were the captain…I would have given Amir straight away his 4 overs to bowl because he is best at taking a few wickets with the new ball…

In the final analysis choosing four quickies and the remaining two spinners who were ineffective on the same pitch where Indian spinners were unplayable resulted in Indian victory. Kohli’s innings was absolutely brilliant.
With Pak’s remaining two matches against NZ and Aus there is not much chance of Pak heading to semis.
At the end of the tournament it should be curtains for waqar and Afridi even if we somehow advance from the group stages.
Sharjeel is all at sea against spinners.

So really…I don’t know why all of you are so mad at your team..were you not expecting this? The day I heard they changed the venue..I told my husband…they will change the pitch..and they did…what else can you expect from them.
But they will not lift this cup..they can change all the damn pitches to their advantage..but it will not help them (that is why they lost to NZ)..cheaters can only go so far..yes yes..you can say that the pitches are not prepared by BCCI, and that it is done by ICC…but we also know what ICC stands for these days :snooty:

cheaters? what was the cheating? didnt they allow your brainless skipper and coach and rest of the mgmt inspect the pitch? and after inspecting the pitch, our think tank decided to play 4 fast bowlers as if there was green grass all over the pitch 
was such team selection also india’s cheating plan?
that we dont even have a decent spinner in the team is a separate topic but maybe and just a maybe, imad wasim would have helped us.
didnt NZ mgmt completely change their plans and decided to dump their 2 good fast bowlers and play with 3 spinners in match against india after seeing the wicket and won the match?
and here we have afridi 400 matches and waqar 300 matches experience and they included 4 fast bowlers on a complete spinning track

Our team management read the pitch very wrongly.. India were smashed by NZ’s part-time spinners and skittled for less than a 100 days ago, on a completely spinning track and any other team but us would have laughed in glee at today’s track being a spinners’ one again. Why we played with four pacers is simply astounding. Afridi’s bowling average vs India is a pathetic 52…yes…52(!), and with Malik’s contributions to bowling non-existent; our spin was spearheaded by Afridi. 4 pacers on a spinning track and the one spinner who averages 52, is there any surprise India won?
Imad Wasim, Mohammad Nawaz are simply not being played, for God knows what reasons. Wahab Riaz, who has done sod all for us for eons now (can anyone actually remember him winning a match for us?) is being played game after game, Irfan continued to bowl short length dollies on a pitch which had no movement, it was a pathetic performance.

^ May be Afridi thought he being the sole main-spinner he could bag 4-5 wickets, and win the game… voila the champion for ever!

My brainless skipper would be Angelo Matthews…your’s would be Afridi…which needs to be changed…as for your spinners…they have all been banned..one spinner I don’t think would have done the trick against their 4 or 5 spinners they were playing with…the fast bowlers were the ones to take your wickets.
One more thing…International cricket should not be played in India…one part of the country is saying they can’t provide security for Pakistan..another part of the country is saying they can’t provide security for Sri Lanka…but yeaa..let us all go play cricket in India!

i stay from strategic analysis these days as i am tired of doing it with zero results but YES on your wahab riaz point…i never liked him from day 1. he is a brainless bowler who simply hit the deck hard and he is mentally weak. once he gets hit, he panics.

Lol, still strange at Imad’s absence.
We should have bought Asghar. Played with him and Imad at the expense of any other out of form player. Nawaz was wonderful in PSL but for some bizarre reason he isn’t selected either!
But I agree with your last point, I would not have sent our team to India. There should be no cricket with India, at all.

batting pitch? well, indian batters would have smacked us with their batting power. comeon, we know their batting is much better than us. we would be complaining again that indians made a batting pitch to neutralize our “great” bowling attack
a fast pitch? well guess what, just 2 weeks ago we got a top grassy green wicket against them in BD and we were bold for 83 and lost the match…and by the way, we decided not to play 4 fast bowlers on that green fast pitch but we decided to play 4 on a top spinning track

Congrats to the pakistani womens cricket team against india yesterday. I couldn’t see a mention on any thread about this. Great win by them
Interesting this thread has 300 plus comments but the pakistan vs bangladesh thread has only 95 comments.
Most of the other host countries have already hosted a wct20 competition including Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The Western countries are not exactly interested in cricket much at this time as they have their own sporting competitions which are given greater importance. I’d also like to see a wct20 being held in Pak in the future.
I’m not aware of the security issues but as long as players and cricketing boards are happy to play in India why shouldnt they play there? Mohammed Hafeez said he was happy at the crowd support in the Bangladesh game. Political issues should not interfere with cricket any more than they already do.
It is just one game. Anyone can have an off day. The Pakistani team played really well against Bangladesh and this game was quite close. India have not won against NZ in world cup either.

Maybe the sri lankan cricketers do too. Just because of some elements there is no need to change location of the world cup. I am disappointed that a cricket series has not happened in Pak and I hope the Indian team plays a series there.
