i don't see anything wrong with the video. the hadith he quoted is true as per my knowledge but i do disgree at the end. a man can't use force. if he calls n wife refuses its the wife's choice to displease her husband and Allah but a husband is not given any right by Islam to be unjust or cruel. also if a wife is feeling tired or not in a mood she can clearly tell her husband and a husband should comply with it. however if she makes it a habit n do it too often then sure he can take steps. many ppl don't know but the hadith is not only for wives its true for husbands too that if a wife wants it and he doesn't comply for any solid reasons angels curse him too.
@jhoom as per my understanding of Arabic the translation doesn't seem twisted.

all rules, laws, ahadith and Ayats are for HUMANs to follow. Husband cant force his wife when he wants it. The whole relationship of husband wife is about love, understanding n supporitng each other. If you bring in FORCE in any relationship, say good bye to it coz its gonna end sooner or later.

I know of a gal, whose husband would force her and guess what, she started hating him which was a very natural reaction. Today she is hiding from her husband with a baby in her lap. She eloped from hubby’s house in bangladesh, coz not only the husband but the in laws were treating her like an animal they had bought from bakar-mandi :grumpy:

Islam is religion of peace and all it talks about is to keep balance and justice, respect and love, be soft and patient. It gives same rights to men and women.

As Far as my knowledge is concern. I remember that when i discussed few questions with different scholars and ALL OF THEM had same baseline .. i.e. You can't force anything on her specially when it comes to physical act.

Islam has given woman her individuality, how come it kills her individuality on such matter? I don't buy this.

Islam certainly does not propose that a partner use force where consent is not forthcoming ...on the contrary it encourages mutual consent.

Any kind of force within a relationship will lead to its deterioration......all it leads to is hatred & repulsion for an act that should nurture love and sensitivity.***

I'm kind of confused as to why an opinion would be needed--the natural reaction should be "this guy is full of it." It's sad that these men are given podiums to preach these horribly unislamic and misogynistic things. I wouldn't mind doing a few things to him against his will.

'Must consent' unless she has a valid reason and as Mabrook said the husband is also obliged to satisfy his wife sexually (and she has the right to divorce if he doesn't).. Islamically he isn't allowed to be cruel or mistreat her so I don't get how some ppl think he'd be able to force himself on her..

On a side note the reason why prospective spouses are encouraged to look at each other and talk with mehrams present is to see if they're compatible and that they (hopefully) are attracted to each other.. Obviously, marrying someone you feel nothing for physically/sexually could lead to sex being a 'chore.'

Why the heck do most scholars not show both sides of the coin for a fuller picture?? Would lead to a lot less misunderstanding and misery, as well as the idea of Islam being 'anti-women.' Would have taken 10secs for the scholar to just point out the husband also has a duty to satisfy his wife as well..

Its a two way street buddy.

If you come home from work, are exhausted and dont want to do acrobats but your wifey does...you have to comply. You expect her to show compassion...you should too.

With power comes responsibility. Just because Islam allows you to satisfy yourself doesnt mean you or any other man abuse this privilege.

if he's done things to me that have caused me to hate him or be repulsed by him, i have to still consent to his desires? :( if a man hurts his wife on a daily basis, he's a stranger to her, her body belongs to him and his to her but in such instances, if her mind hates him for hurting her, it's rape, no other word comes to mind.
