Re: Why 'Xaenab' and not 'Zainab'?
these days, parents don't mind to name their child X,Y,Z as long as it sounds cute, irrespective of how they are spelled or what that name means or if that name represent their ethic background. you might see a name which might sound like an Arab name but the owner of that name may be from the subcontinent.
i believe that our children's name should be an Arabic or a Farsi name, that it should carry a good meaning and nicely blends in with one's ethnicity.
some names of those misfit names are:
Soraya = Soraiya
Rahimtula = ReHmat Ullah
Sidki = Siddiqui
Haaris = Harris
Hannah = Hana [chhoTii he, noon, alif, hamzah]
Re: Why 'Xaenab' and not 'Zainab'?
Eh, give people a common name and this is what happens. The pursuit to being unique is never ending. I have unique name and people always pause before reading mine. Like in school I always knew that when a person ticking attendance started making fish faces they were stuck on my name.

Why Arabic and Farsi names and how come they will blend with one's ethnicity?
Re: Why 'Xaenab' and not 'Zainab'?
its not miss-spelled. thats how they pronounce most of the names. D is usually replaced with T. but not always. i don't know the rule when it will be replaced and when not.
like پ of urdu/turkish/persian is replaced with ب in arabic (but due to different reason)
is ley k arabic huroof -e-tahhaji main pay hota hee nahi hay ....
