Read a card where a lady’s name was written as Xaenab’. At first instance, I couldn’t get it. About the name and about the nationality of the person.
Saw another name in Image forum ( @Tahurra 's thread) Yasmin Mogahed… Now this Mogahed might be Mujahid..
So have you observed this trend? Whats behind it? share some instances.

People here try to spell their name more english ... There was a chick her name was Mishal but she kept calling herself Michelle

In our collage we called asif as As-If :D

people just try too hard to make it like english or whatever.

Yeahhh. A few of my friends whose name starts with Z, change it to X! Like Zain to Xain, Zara to Xara. I never got why they do it. It's cool, perhaps.

I think it is related to pronounciation, ham urdu k hesab se spell karty hain or wo log pronounciation k hesab se, jaise we write mujahid as "j" is for jeem,magar wo log just listening k through mogahed likhty hainy, its just ab opinion, kuch log fasion k tor per bhi replace z with x.
