Re: Why women avoids....

no no its ok :)....there isn't anything else to say newaizzz

Re: Why women avoids…

Well im going to say to that im actually a university graduate in Politics and i absolutely loved studying it. The reason y i CHOOSE not to discuss it on this forum in any way, shape or form is because ppl get so hostile and the debate becomes far too heated and is actually taken away from the issue that was being discussed. :hoonh:

Re: Why women avoids....

most people just talk but do nothing about the issues facing the world....I dont want to be one of them who just moans about the state of things....rather than being proactive....we are sadly just reactive...

why women dont discuss these topics? cuz alot of times thier fathers/brothers dont listen to what they;re sister or mother has to say....so in reality its men who put women off from discussing anything....be it political or any issue....in most uneducated desi families....females have no say in anything...they are not even heard....since their kids till they're older....by that time women have developed a habit to stay out of these topics...
im sure its different in educated families where girls are listened to as well....

Re: Why women avoids....

well i dont buy the argument, that women dont discuss here cause they are afraid of hostility from male members here, this happens in all topics not just politics or other national issues.

interest in thread somehow proves they do care about and came all out to defend themselves. which is positive.

and some women took me all wrong. I wasnt b*****ng them careless about these issues, I provided just few options according to my mind that might be some of the reasons behind this. not being narrow minded or blind at all, I am here long enough to know who is male or female on the baord.

Re: Why women avoids....

Shak Kills, I'd worry more about your own self rather than who is not posting in which threads and why. Seems more Pakistani buddhi (old lady) - ish to me than anything else you accuse us women of.

Re: Why women avoids....

At present we have '0' pakistani guppans posting on Pak Affairs. However, we have all sorts of male members there, the so called mod muslims, mad mollahs, anti-pakistanis, indians (of all religions) even some goraz, but ALL of them are male!

Re: Why women avoids....

Spock, what exactly qualifies a person as "male"? So many of them act like girls.

Re: Why women avoids....

lol well thats true... infact, i just called one of them, who was accusing mushy of being a womanizer out of no where, a girl and he gets all mad and started making personal attacks... i love that forum!

Re: Why women avoids....

See, most women don't like to subject themselves to that kind of unmoderated undignified treatment.

Re: Why women avoids....

well, its moderated really well, atleast now it is... the personal attacks there are still better than the ones we see on other forums... its just politically charged. Also, one thing I do admit, most women here arent interested in Pakistani politics, and most of the new bacha log (both guys and girls) who come to GS arent either...

Re: Why women avoids....

spock u are just a mush fan because you minted money from the army and err are a mod muslim errr etc

Re: Why women avoids....

Spock, I'm sure guys are all goo-goo-gaa-gaa about their appearances. God knows with the coconut oil I see guys sporting trying to pass it off as gel, and what not. And yet how many guys are posting in fashion? I mean, you'd think right? It could potentially become a pick up center. But it ain't happening. So why are guys not posting in fashion? Intimidated? Wanting to stick to more socially-labelled manly behaviors?

I mean what is it? You don't talk about politics, so then you're not a man?

As evidenced in the past, plenty of girls do go in there and put up topics. Just that the calibre of discussion there isn't all that great.

First off you have a bunch of armchair politicians giving their inaccurate theories about things. You can't argue politics if you have no knowledge of history. So, you're adding in a dimension of research and knowledge that most people don't have. Whereas guys don't care that their buk buk is nonsense as long as its about politics because gosh darnit that's what gives your manhood any meaning, we women don't have time or the patience to fiddle with well researched topics and posts when the replies are simply expectedly going to be lacking. Among many other reasons, that's a major reason why I don't post there anymore.

Re: Why women avoids…

:hehe:

Re: Why women avoids....

I don't avoid it..i just don't see the point of talking and discussing ad nauseam a subject every other uncle discusses and solves at every party....it won't change the world.

Re: Why women avoids…

I post there from time to time but after my stint in Islamabad I realized I started avoiding that forum for some strange reason. However, it was different when I moderated that forum.

hmm yeah, what do us harebrained women know about politics and other such serious topics.

Re: Why women avoids....

Nope IMO, most guys dont care about their appearances, atleast I dont, and quite frankly, for me personally going to fashion forums and discussing the latest fashion scene is hardly appealing, or intellectual. Again it depends on person to person.

I didnt say that, but the folks who I think are intellectual, DO infact post on the political forums maybe even rarely. Even you did, and I do consider you an intelligent person. I dont care if they are men or women.

There were just 2-3, ever since I have been posting there, and theres alot of guys. And did you even visit the Pak Affairs section recently? Its BY far the best political discussion forum for Pakistan, that I have come across, and the callibre of discussion is probably the best, well atleast better than this particular culture section. I have seen some really intelligent posters like Haris, Zakk, Fraudz, Farid, mad scientist talk about Pak Affairs, and learnt quite alot from their input too. And the excuse that 'omg ppl make fun of me there', isnt valid as thats not true, anyone who goes there can vouch for that.

Ok now youre making it a 'man vs woman' issue, which is quite silly to discuss in the first place. I generally do not support men who supress women and dont let them compete shoulder to shoulder, but then I also am not fond women who keep complaining about men, so Im in the middle. The forums out there, if someone (man or woman) wants, he/she can continue to post there, since they arent doing so, it proves a point.

Summing up, its so obvious none of the women in GS are interested in politics, call it lack of interest, or lack of intellect, or plain fear but the fact remains they arent out there participating, and it would be good to have them there.

Re: Why women avoids....

oh another thing, if they think gupshup politics is no place for women to post, because of 'lack of moderating etc', then just open up daily news, or dawn's political editorial section, u wont even see (amongst 20-30 published every day) a single letter coming from a khatoon, most of the time...
