Seek knowledge even it is in China. Pakis give this examples. Even arabs also give this example too. So what’s the history or mystery behind this?

I think its because traveling by foot to china was almost impossible because of rough terrain

I think Chinese were known to Arabs due to trading relationships and when it was said that 'seek knowledge even you have to go to China', it has two meanings:
(1) China was considered to be the farthest country in Arab
(2) Arabs were aware of the knowledge Chinese possessed in the fields like medicine
