I have never supported tribal anarchy, go ahead I dare you or anyone to prove that I did. I supported your thread about abolishing FCR, so how could I be against that. Plus, I support free market (with government regulations ofcourse) and want the people of pakhtunkhwa and Afghanistan to enter the twenty-first century and follow development. I don't know where I ever said otherwise.
Tribal anarchy is the b@$tard child of violating international borders. Anyone who supports illegal transfer of goods and people across the borders automatically supports anarchy.
Think about the traffic rules. When the light is red, you have to stop regardless of your religion or ethnic background. International borders act as traffic control measures.
You would create anarchy on the roads by not accepting the enforcement of traffic light system.
Similarly you would create anarchy in the countries by not accepting the enforcement of border system.
There is one exception to the rules of traffic light. In case of emergency, a designated law-enforcement agent may issue temporary permission to not follow the lights. But it is only temporary.
Similarly borders are opened in case of emergency, but only on temporary basis.
Interesting debate. I would like to reiterate to the Pashtuns on here as I have in the past...
Speaking for Hindko speaking people (we make up the most important and infulential districts in current "NWFP") we have absolutely NO INTEREST in joining Afghanistan. Pashtunwalli oriented afgan\pashtun nationalists are regressive people more interested in conflict then buliding a successfull society. There is a reason Afghanistan is the way it is - you cant always blame Pakistan, American or Russia or whoever else.
BTW after the recent earthquake I read some Afghan forums and was absolutely disgusted by the ignorant\drop dead stupid comments made by Pashtuns, saying things like - Hindko people deserved this due to being Pakistani or whatever LOL. I guess that indicates what allah thinks of Afghanistan because they have been living in a wretched state in all modern times.
Guys this exactly is te problem that is dividing us and driving us apart...........Come on listen to eachother. Give some thought and respect to eachothers comments complaints and suggestions. If there are people who believe they have been neglected then we cannot just close our eyes and say no. Zgard is right in saying that NWFP is not a name and if majority of the people in that province agree then this name should be changed to what people think reflects them best. Similarly the FATA area, Yes it has been neglected but blame has to be shared between the national government, the provincial govt and the rest of us especially the ones who cry foul for being neglected but dont do anything themselves to help people in those areas. Also it is our collective responsibility as a nation to identify and acknowledge areas that have been neglected and pump more funds in those areas. But for any govt to do that will mean a threat to the influence that the war lords hold in that region at the moment. So in some extent people pushtoons have to help out as well if they want to see real developement in that region. Again i personally believe that Balochistan has been the most neglected part of Pakistan and same goes for them that yes as a nation we should do more but people there should also try to break the shackles and free themselves of the warlords and jageerdars.
Lets create a culture of understanding. Whats the difference between us. We believe in the Same Allah the same Rasool (S.A)....... Surely there cannot be anything bigger than this.
Hindko speakers form about 18% of the speakers of the NWFP. Pashto is spoken by 70% of the NWFP population. Are you trying to say that Peshawar is a Hindko speaking city?
Prove those statistics.
Secondly, it is common knowledge that Peshawer has always been a hindko speaking city. Only in recent times with an influx of Afghan refugees and partition has that changed.
A lot of the Pathan believe that Pathans should join Afghanistan for the sake of saving their culture from the influences as what the percieve to be Hindu Indian influences as ludicrous as that may sound.
But this just shows a level of insecurity... If Pathan culture is so great, it should be able to stand up to whatever pressure is posed.
Thats not an accurate statement. I am not a Pathan not a resident of NWFP but i do agree that out culture has been influenced by Hindu culture which is natural as we have lived with them for centuries. But if you look at our society today the influence of Indian TV channels and movies is un believable. I think its good if someone thinks of protecting their values and culture but that doesnt mean at all that its a legitamate reason to cut off all ties. Its not just a problem with NWFP its problem all of us face and must act to protect our national identity. I am sure arguing among ourselves will not help.
Around 68 per cent people in NWFP speak Pashto, 18 per cent speak Hindko and the mother language of about four per cent is Seraiki. Around eight per cent people in the province speak local languages like Kohistani in the Kohistan district.
Look you daft twerp. It is in the 1981 census that Pashto is spoken by 70% of the population of the NWFP, Hindko is spoken by 18%. Manshehra is the main Hindko spekaing area as is part of Hazara district, which doesnt have much influence in NWFP. Peshawar is the main powerbase and is the capital of the NWFP.
Peshawar was never a Hindko speaking city actually, unless you're a Dravidian Indian nationalist.. "Hindko is widely believed to be a derivative dialect of Punjabi that came to the Pakhtoon lands only after the Sikh occupation of the Frontier in the 1830's" - quote is from Jang..but if you read the history of the Pashto language you'll realize how daft you are, and perhaps you will do everyone a favour and pro create as many stupid Indian kids as possible..
^
The Afghan refguees who have flooded into places like Peshawar speak mainly Dari, and added onto the fact that so many Hindko-speakers do live there as well, it is very likely that Pashto is spoken by only a minority of people in the city.
LOL, the 1981 census, good one dude. You stuffing some of those rocks from your cave into ur brain or something, LOL. First thing you can do is start throwing around instults, typical neandrathal attitude, congrats You fit the stereotype well.
SO you want 2 join Afghanistan, take Hazara district off and go on your way. I certianly would’nt lose any sleep.
Calling me an Indian might be an insult in your book, but I’d rather be an Indian over Afghan and day of the week.. Civilization vs Chaos… hmmm which is better?
"Mutalia Pakistan", the holy scripture of Pakistani brand Islam, has done its damage. Until drilled into their butts, some friends here wouldn't understand that Agriculture is a PROVINCIAL SUBJECT with provinces having control over production, pricing, and taxation of the crops. NWFP buys wheat from Punjab in interprovincial trade with hard cash. And the federal govt isn't allowing NWFP to buy wheat from international market directly with lesser cost.
Additionally, govt of the Punjab insists that it would supply flour rather than wheat. This is because selling flour (processed material) instead of wheat (raw material) brings Punjabi flour millers higher incomes and the govt of Punjab more taxes in addition to boosting industrial activity in that province (more and more flour mills). This is the reason that flour mills in NWFP have closed down over past few years.
Moreover, flour millers and public of Punjab are supllied wheat and flour on subsidized rates. Imagine, a Baluchi in Queta purchases per cubic foot of natural gas at the same price as a Punjabi of Lahore despite the fact that gas is produced by Baluchistan (Naturally, Baluchi should get gas on subsidized rate as Punjabis get wheat and wheat flour on subsidized rate).
Another fact is, so far not a single land-development project has been launched in NWFP to increase the size of cultivable land whereas there are plans afoot to irrigate lands of Choolistan.

What did you achieve with resources that u have in the times of Taliban?
What is the contribution of NWFP to state GDP?
Probably, your "Mutalia Pakistani" brain cannot grasp the fact that modern economies are industry-based and driven by energy. If Pubjab stops stealing and plundering water-share and energy and other natural resources of the rest of the provinces, then in the words of Attaullah Mengal, 80 millions Punjabis would only eat grass. And if NWFP or Baluchistan secedes, that would be the end of the Punjab, which would again be a part of mother India/Hindustan with Amritsai guys dancing with Lahori girls and Lahore gils dancing with Amritsari guys.

What is the contribution of NWFP to art, science and culture of Pakistan?
What is the contribution of Punjab to arts and science. And Pashtuns have their own culture distinct from the Indian/Desi/Hindustani Culture of the Punjabi. Our heroes are not Ranjit Singh, Guru Nanak, Nawaz Sharif, etc. Our heroes are Sher Shah Suri, Ahmad Shah Abdali, and great Abdul Ghafar Khan.
We don't have a common culture.
You can still happily 'practice' ur own culture in NWFP that is culture of giving ur women to ur enemies for settling blood dispute, culture of murders on petty issues and culture of lending money on interest.
Our culture is better than the culture of survility, docility, and deception where women are burnt alive.
Oh, all this fundo gibberish! If nationalism is such bad thing then why Pakistani nationalism also that there are no natural basis for Pakistani nationhood?
Moreover, every person is attached to a land, a culture, and and ethicity from which he/she derives a sense of identity. And self-determination is a natural and inalienable right. However, it is another matter if you are living in a vacuum.
Man, in another post you passed an insulting comment about an entire ethnicity (regressive culture) but now that roadrunner has passed a personal comment about you, you feel insulted. And on top of this, you are not willing to accept evidences from authentic sources regarding population figures? What kind of civilization it is?
Let me repeat that according to 1998 census of Pakistan, Pashtuns are 74.4% of the total population of NWFP and Hindko-speakers less than 18%. Further, in Hazara itself, only District Haripur and District Hazara have Hindko-speaking majority whereas Mansehra is partially Pashto-speaking and partially Hindko. District Battagram has Pashto-speaking majority and Indus Kohistanis are significantly bilingual in both Pashto and Kohistani languages. Peshawar has 85% Pashto-speakers.
Instead of inventing ethnic slangs, you shoud dispute these figures with proofs from authentic sources. If you claim to be civilized, then your method of argumentation should be scientific.
You can check population by mother tongue at following location.
Well, to my Pashtun fellas, I'll say that as long as we are divided there wouldn't be peace on our land. Remeber, social and political cohesion and unity are the most fundametal strength of a society. Ony a politically organized and unified society can defend itself against threats to its existence, well being, and prosperity. We, Pashtuns, occupy an ultra-strategic location and our land is resource-rich. And we must have advantage of it. But how can we do that if we are a divided community?
Most importantly, our unity is absolutely necessary for peace on our land. Divided, our land will be a war-zone where foreign powers will clash, play games, and wage proxy wars destroying our generations as result. If there is no peace, how would investment come to our land? One day of war destroyes 100 years of achievements, especially in modern times. Roads, schools, bridges, hospitals, and every other symbol of civilization is destroyed and people are brutalized.
We should think about this in a political way.
As for Punjab, it will like to perpituate proxy war on our land and earn $$$s as a result ($$$s @ terror). as long as it can. The more the terror and the longer the span of terror, the more the $$$s.
Pakistan should be converted in a genuine and peaceful federal state for peace to come to our land.
