Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
I have no idea what you want to say. Please elaborate.
What does this discussion have to do with Pakistan, rain, or God being on Pakistan side. Are you lost my dear?
Let me remind you..the thread is about…Why Islam is fastest growing religeon in the ‘world’?.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
I have a question. If the whole world, or almost whole, became muslim, what would be the state of following -
movies and television
fashion
books
yoga
gay parades
Thanks!
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
movies and television. don’t see any change. Omar Sharif…
fashion… Christian Dior are quite popular in Dubai and Gulf.. designer burqas
books… quran is already the no. 1 bestseller
yoga… whilst i can’t imagine osama bin laden doing it, i don’t see how it will be affected
gay parades… no. that’ll have to go.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
but they do feel themselves to be different from non-westerners. “ummah” is just a word, it has no substance. it can mean anything you want it to mean.. one nation.. community of nations… loose economic alliance etc (you have variations of these in the Western World: NATO, EU, NAFTA etc).
i’m not predicting that “ummah” will spread to China or Indonesia. Certainly i don’t support arabism. But one day eastern countries will join together.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
wrong, movies and tv will certainly change. no nudity, no hto scenes, no anti-religion stuff etc etc. it’ll be all like iranian cinema, well meaning but drab.
the CD will have to be hidden under the burqas, in fact there will be no CD as we know it since he will be muslim
books - same as movies and tv, essentially only islamic views and religion will be liked and tolerated.
yoga an gay parades will be looked on as same things
Is this what you really want the world to b??![]()

BOTH
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
THE SAME QUESTION CAN BE POSED TO EXTREMISTS OF ANY RELIGION, NOT JUST ISLAM.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
It's a very simply answer.
Muslims have the highest birth rates in the entire world. the Ummah is an overwhelmingly third-world population, and third-worlders have a lot of babies. Muslims have even more babies than other third-worlders because the concept of overpopulation does not register as a bad thing. Mullahs from India to Ethiopia and everywhere in between actively encourage Muslim families to have more children, probably in some warped attempt at global conquest.
Conversions to Islam will still comprise less than 1% of the total Muslim population. It's an irrelevant statistic. The number of people Pakistan or Bangladesh add in one day is probably more than the number of Western convert additions in an entire year.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
^ quit making sense, will you!
Islam is #1!!! Muslims zindabad!!! It's about quantity, not quality.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
It depends not on Islam, but on how conservative society is. After all, the situations you have described actually prevailed in Europe for a long time. Personally, I am a secularist. Religion has no role in public affairs. However, the government does have a duty to protect social values, since I’m also a conservative. I’m not saying that it should arrest the movement of society or outlaw change. But there should be some brake on it. It shouldn’t be so fast as to attract reaction (as it did in Iran before the revolution).
So, let me answer your questions again:
(i) I’m for banning nudity and sexually explicit scenes in movies. Not because of religion, but because of social values (although they may be grounded in religion - but not necessarily Islam).
(ii) dress. the state does not have a right to impose dress codes. So I’d let people wear what they like. However, there will be laws banning public indecency and lewdness, as there are in most Western societies. The degree of indecency/lewdness that constitutes criminal conduct will obviously be much higher in Pakistan, because it’s a much more conservative society.
(iii) books. apart from obscene publications, which will be restricted (porn will be banned), there will be no restrictions on free speech. It should be permissible to attack religion, provided the intention is not to stir up violence or rioting.
(iv) gay parades. homosexuality has no place in Pakistan. although private acts will not be proscribed, certainly parades and marriages will be.
Now, I want you to show me, through sustained moral argument and not just rhetorical trash, why my thinking is wrong, if it is.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
wht a jealous loser hindu…no body is denying the fact tht birth rate is quite high but conversion is also increasing in many parts of the india…in india, thousands of people accept islam every year…in western countries, islam is spreading fast also by conversion…i dont know where u live in this world.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
Agreed for the most part. Except for the bold sentence of yours.
Religeon plays a big part in public affairs and everywhere in world certain laws are made to mainly to protect the rights of majority religeon. Example: religeous Govt. holidays.
Even so called ‘secular’ states protect the majority. Word secularism is a hoax.
But again I do agree with most you said.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
in the religion case, its quality not quantity..
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
Well, much of society is not conservative now, and to expect it to go back to conservatism is asking for trouble. I am referring not to you specifically but to everyone here who thinks Islam’s growing influence will be beneficiary for the world. You will just have more fundamentals pitted against liberals who will equate Islam with trouble.
Every country has societal values and failures. I don’t have to tell you that America has very strong ones ( I’m presuming the US is viewed as the most socially corrupt) which are admired and copied. sure the americans get some things wrong but at least they dont tolerate kids riding camels and dying. Just to point out again that spread of Islam does not ensure social values increasing.
Good. Just make sure some nudity is allowed since a lot of people are comfortable with their bodies and like seeing aesthetic partial nudity.
We are not talking of Pakistan, we’re discussing if spread of Islam like wildfire is a good thing. No disrespect but even the most patriotic Pakistani would not want the world to be another Pakistan (or India if that makes you happy) in lawlessness, if Islamic majority means that.
it does not work that way. Either free speech is allowed or not, religious attack is allowed or not, gayness is allowed or not. Whenever there is a ‘but..’ there will be a Taliban standing to implement its own version of the ‘but’.
Your thinking is not wrong, just not the same as mine. You get your jollies from thinking Islam is the fastest spreading, it doesnt’ make an iota of difference to me if Christianity is spreading or not. That is the VITAL difference.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
Maybe it doesn’t, but if it is part of the social fabric then you or anyone other person has no right to remove it. Poking your nose in other people’s affairs by sending 120,000 troops to impose your social values is in itself a step towards mediaeval barbarism. And it’s surprisingly supported by Christianity, which is supposed to have civilised the savages of Europe.
Aesthetics is not the criterion. It’s morality which in my opinion is a social construct, based on consensus in society. People cannot be allowed to do whatever they like according to their own aesthetic criteria. Otherwise, there would be no justification for planning laws.
What you’re saying is that it’s because of Islam that Pakistan is lawless. This just shows how ignorant you are of Pakistan’s history. How can you explain the lawlessness that prevailed in the Wild West? Wasn’t the racist discrimination and brutality against blacks in America and indeed in South Africa much worse than any of the lawlessness seen in Pakistan? Wasn’t your destruction of Cambodia, the carpet bombing with agent orange, the massacres of thousands of people, was any of that beneficial to mankind?
doesn’t it work like that? If you look at the Constitutions of any country or any international bills or rights or documents on human rights, you will see that free speech is not an unlimited right. For example have a look at Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights: (http://www.hri.org/docs/ECHR50.html):
what makes you think it makes a difference to me? what made you assume that I am a Muslim? this just shows what a prejudiced bigot you are. I am an agnostic. I do not follow any religion. And you have the gall to hurl that accusation at me. What made you think I get my “jollies” from thinking “Islam is the fastest spreading”?
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
yes, i am well aware of all the armies of ex-con kalus and college drop-out goras that are lining up to convert. but they are an insignificant population.
my point is that the title “fastest growing” comes from insane birthrates. 8 of the top 10 highest birthrate countries are Muslim countries.
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
If hinduism is such a good-quality religion then why doesnt the same number of people convert to it?
Islam IS the fastest growing religion and you people honestly need to get over it!
Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
I'd be careful before questioning others whether they have a 'good quality relgion', you could be attacked on several fronts yourself (as could any religion).
