Re: why is Islam the fastest growing religion in the world?
If hinduism does not believe in advertisement, there must be a reason.
Hindus are very shy people when it comes to their religeon they are very afraid of being mocked at if they show what they actually believe in and what they do in the name of their religeous practice. Bowing to stone, drinking urine, etc. In essence they cannot make anyone actually convert to their religeon from any other religeon.
Why hinduism books not sold so commonly? Hinduism is kinda private religeon.
Some hindustani cultural things are acquired by others but not commonly a whole religeon accepted by others.
But they are self satisfied and let them be.
Muslims and Christians do try their best to spread their faith.
Many ways christians win the hearts and minds of people. Even poor africans and far away land people get converted by christians, so no need to talk about prisoners/uneducated or blacks converting to Islam.
In Pakistan Chooray (gutter cleaners) converted to christianity or maintained christianity.
So what's the point who got converted and who did not and what was the background of a person who was converted. Oppressed people sometimes acccept other religeon when desperately need some alternatives.
On the whole however, excellent people in their profession and famous celebs converted to Islam throughout history.
Its not like they will really be persecuted if muslim famous people convert to non-muslim religeon as Sadiyah mentioned. They will be accepted readily outside the country with 'great' reward like walking on Red carpet during Oscar night.
(You know what I mean. I saw no one actually talking to Salman Rushdi on TV that night. Poor guy was standing alone for long time smilin...)
In many western countries, existing muslims have become more closer to islam.
Many reasons. One of them sense of insecurity. Other, religeous news and islam-bashing and natural reaction to foolishness on the part of people portraying islam the way they see it or want others to see it.
In fact ramadaan and other religeous activities are much stronger in non-muslims countries than in some 'muslim' countries.
Anyhow, keep trying reasoning for 'muslims' not converting to other religeon..you may come back to flexibility and in many ways rigidity of Islam to be the reason.
Simplicity is also a charm in Islam.
All religeons do tell some or many good things but Islam is natural, it is clear, sensible, open and against obvious evils.
