Re: Why does the bride have to sit like an inanimate frozen statue
DUDE..before my wedding... i just wondered..if a bride has to go to the bathroom wat does she do? i mean wont it look awkward getting up and leaving and stuff? coz u know...the bride is to sit still and be elegant and sophisticated and all....and it just seemed weird. And i just brought itup as a joke.....and my uncle was like... ok i dont think i should say it here....lol.
Re: Why does the bride have to sit like an inanimate frozen statue
no a bride does not have to look like that always. it has to dow ith how educated the families are and whether they like to see the new couple relax or not relax.
some men can be really miserable as well. angry, sad, upset, unhappy on their weddings. & it is sad that they are so because they are in a bad mood or something was taken from them, such as their right to choice.
resentment shows on their faces like there is no tomorrow.
so being aware of the fact that peopleshould not look unhappy and sit like some statue on their wedding, friends and family members must enable the bride and groom to feel happy and rejoice in their wedding.
best,
Dushwari

i think theres a separate forum for vendors to post ads about businesses.... it might be more helpful for you to post there!

Re: Why does the bride have to sit like an inanimate frozen statue
omg...i was so mad at this cousins cousin...who kept telling me to look down, walk slow and not talk...while they were bring me out at my eng.
i told my cousin to shut her up or i will...i think she heard me and shut up. :)
but i was told by everybody not to talk to much or smile and stuff n almost all my eng pics are with a still (clueless) face...i m going to make sure i dont do that at the wedding. u dont have to talk that much but have to keep a smile on the face for the camera the whole time :D
This topic reminds of what one of my friend’s sister had to bear :-)…
So that girl is getting married and is the second one in her immediate family to get married..so, even the family was chilled out and enjoying the moments of wedding preparation because, the first wedding is usually the one when everyone is totally stressed out…Anyway, she was very excited for the shopping for so many fabulous, clothes, jewelery and what not…Her bridal dress was being made by some designer…you can just imagine how thrilling and exciting it can be…
And then one day, her mom pulled her aside and told her that she has no problems with anything at all, but she was “politely asked” by aunties to tell the daughter to take it easy and “show some sharm-o-hayaa” and that her excitement level shows that she was getting “desperate” for the marriage…(she was 18 at the time)
Re: Why does the bride have to sit like an inanimate frozen statue
I haven't really seen a wedding like that in ages. Most of the ones I've been to in the states the brides at least walk over to all the tables and cut the cake, most also have a first dance so I think the trend is ending a bit. I think there is a trend here of having people nikafied early like sometimes months or even a year before the actual 'shadi' day so the bride and groom have been sorta 'married' already so its not as big of a deal. I have seen auntis talking smack about this bride and that but what do they know!
I can understand though why in older days or in some situations now women are all static and look scared, I mean you are going to be spending the night with a strange man when you've probably never spent an hour alone with a na-mehram your whole life! and the brides were younger so I am sure they were naturally scared. Like there was a forum a while ago and one of the guppers said she has yet to see even a picture of the man she is marrying and has ever talked to a na-mehram. I am sure its terrying thinking about the prospect of this new life etc....
