WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?

All nadz asked was why don't we wear hijab (coz its not farz, ok, the end!) and why don't we say our prayers, thats farz isnt it... and look at this thread now... "mind ur own business", "stop being a mullah", "don't shove it down my throat", "look at ur own self first", "u think ur superior?" and blablabla

Ya Allah hum musalmaano ko sari duniya se nahin to ek dusre se he pyar karne ki tofeeq ata farma. Ameen.

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?

^ People who have their own person legitimate views of not wearing Hijab, Nadz labelled their views as 'excuses'. Hence that IS being judgemental.

If a girl says she does not want to wear a Hijab because she is modest enough, that is NOT AN EXCUSE nor is she 'hiding' behind anything or any reasoning, that is her own legitimate view.

nadz and others also seem to think that it is Islamic to tell grown-ups what is Islamic and what is not

That DOES construe shoving religion down peoples' throat I am afraid

Baat tofeeq ki nai hai, mauka milnay ki hai.

you see …

I believe we are all good and nice people deep down in our heart.

now lets give each other a group hug …

*with namehrams it’s haram :ast: *

:rotfl:

:rotfl:

my sisters and my mother don’t wear a hijab and i can tell u my mother is definitely a better muslim than I am even though i wear one which doesn’t have anything to do with how good of a muslim I may be. In terms of modesty, sharmo haya, etc. mom again takes the cake. So thats the end of the hijab issue.

Now, about telling others whats right and whats not, thats what u call Dawaah and as far as I know, the Quran instructs every muslim to do daawah…

“Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom (hikmah) and beautiful preaching and argue with them in ways that are best.” (Surah An-Nahl 16:125)*

What nadz is doing is not right… she’s not showing much wisdom (in terms of knowledge of the religion), is not preaching beautifully, and is not arguing in the best way.

One guppan I can think of who does daawah the right way is a moderator @psyah:

And all of those who seem to get their knickers in a twist every time someone mentions religion and who accuse that person of being a mullah, please take it easy.

Intoxi: I’m not group hugging until everyone takes that frown away from their face! :naraz:

the wifey of this guppan is not gonna be happy with you. :)

Its when they start being judgemental about who is doing what etc etc etc then thats when people get angry.

I.e. that is what Nadz did.

As far as telling people is concerned everyone is a grown-up and NOONE likes to be told what to do. Trust me.

Dawaah would be legitimate if people were pious Muslims themselves, which NOONE is. So doing dawaah while being imperfect would be hypocrisy and a gunnah in itself wouldn; it, no?

That IS the problem with Muslims, criticse everyone, tell people what to do yet do nothing oneself.

lol psyah is a dude?

sowie :chilly:

I don’t go to the religion section much so i didn’t know.

Nice one.

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?

bbq @psyah: is a guppy not guppan :cb:
and yes he does it beautifully.

But if u get angry and start behaving just like the other person then what makes u different from each other?

Pyar naal gal karni chaidi ae

People were, are and always will be askholes... People didn't like to listen even when the BEST, MOST PIOUS muslim (i.e. Hazrat Mohammad saw) did daawah.... they threw rubbish over him... and i think everyone knows how our prophet reacted to these people....

So you agree then people are imperfect and hence imperfect people have no right to do dawaah unless they reach perfection themselves right...which is what I said before.

And which is what the topic starter did NOT do in this thread. And hence wound up a few people.

people are imperfect, yes I do agree. I remember getting a forward email once… it was about a dream that the Imaam of Khaana Kaaba had… He dreamt that Hazrat Mohammad saw was telling him how 1000 people died this month and only one made it to Jannah (I’ve forgotten the actual numbers)… So hardly anyone is perfect in the present times…

The question is, Shak, how do we define perfect? If perfection means reaching the level that Hazrat Mohammad saw had, then we know it ain’t gonna happen… So does that mean no one has the right to do daawah in the present times? I mean we hate our imams and mullahs as it is… and we don’t like to listen to an average muslim either… Doctor Zakir Naik is a walking talking Quran/hadith and people hate him too… so who is allowed to do daawah? Anyway thats for another day…

I completely understand where ur coming from… people should be nice themselves before asking others to be nice and should refrain from doing things that they ask others to refrain from and should do things that they encourage others to do… Chalo hun ghussa chaddo saray… i myself have gotten angry on this forum plenty of times… honda hai kadi kadi :hugz:
