Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?

Do I look hot when I roll eyes?

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?

Can’t I be engaged AND hot :vivo: Why do I have to be one of the two.

u can be engaged AND hot but u don’t ask namehram khawateen if ur hot :nessy:

Sometimes I wonder why people continually ask us to justify our actions/inactions especially pertaining to religion. After all, how we choose to follow our religion (apart from those actions which deliberately cause harm to others), is between us and God. Asking what excuses we have for not following certain standards is implying that we are trying to free ourselves of blame, insinuating that we are in the wrong.

Reminding others of what you believe to be good/bad isn't a bad thing, but many people (myself included), find that it's the delivery of the subject that is irksome, not the subject itself. I for one, am sick of being told that I have to do something because someone else has decided that I have to. If more people were to base their discussions on what they believe, rather than what they state they know, there would be a lot less animosity floating around.

Example of how this could have gone differently:

I believe hijab (as pertaining to covering the hair), is mandatory. For those who do believe that, what are the reasons you don't wear it?

That way, the subject is approached from a stance of mutual respect, not from one of superior/inferior or a parent/child type situation. Besides, let's face reality, just because we label ourselves as Muslims doesn't mean that we share the same beliefs pertaining to Islam.

As for me, when I miss salah, I can only ask for forgiveness from God who I believe knows why I do so. And thank you for the reminder that we should pray, as that is one aspect of Islam every Muslim subscribes to.

So does that mean no one has the right to do daawah in the present times?
[/QUOTE]
I am afraid so.

Frankly noone wants anyone's opinions about how they should live out their life. My parents have been like that and have never been nosy so I doubt I'll or anyone will accept a stranger telling me what is right and what is not. As much as you find it annoying when people tell you Hijab is extreme or etc etc that is as much as I find preaching people annoying. :)

And I wasn't angry, some posters had no common sense and stooped pretty low (Nadz comments that got my thread deleted)

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?

^ Word.

Chalo changi gul hai. I think she gets the msg.

if someone doesnt follow as said in quran, any reason they have is excuse. if im being judgemental, il also holding that stick to myself.

and i ask again, shak AND CO, where have i said that people SHOUILD READ AND GO READ PEOPLE SHOULD WEAR HIJAB SO GO DO IT...and if someone has said they dont wear it, HAVE I REPLIED with a holier than thou attitude and ordered them to go wear it.

I certainly wasnt telling you how to live your life, im sure there are more guppies here i was also talking to, not just shaks.

and it wasnt my comments mate, i wasnt the one who started the with profanities...if i had, all my threads would be full of swearing and vulagarity. im sure if it was ur sidekick jaanwar.

you never answered the question anyway, instead got all offended, as usual, i used to wonder who these muslims were that the western media kept saying was being offended at everything, i now know they all here on gupland.

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?

my mum lectures my dad daily, to eat better, to lose weight good for his illness, he doesnt listen. what should my mum do? does this make her a dietician? or just someone who cares and wants the best, wants her husband in better health. however if she lectures him daily on namaz, he doesnt listen. what does that make her, a molvi? orjust someone who cares and wants the best.

oh hell, either way, people dont like hearing anything bitter. its all about the candy.

nadz ur the one who bad-mouths her own relatives on GS, who wants to slap her MIL etc... namaz alone isn't going to get you into jannah with that attitude... a sincere muslim doesn't do this sorta stuff... shak and others are right here... change urself before questioning others...

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?

just shut it nadz.

you are overdoing it.

There's a bit of a difference here though. Husbands and wives, family members, friends, they all have a specific type of relationship wherein they are allowed to voice their concerns over what the people theyre close to do. Strangers don't share that relationship, so they aren't allowed the same benefits to advise or know personal information.

Why have you put "muslims" in speech marks? Oh wait...you're being judgmental again. Oops my bad. Do continue drivelling...it's highly entertaining.

Re: WHY do you not read namaz/wear hijab?

The Quran clearly states to cover your head and with the same chaadar (khimar) cover your chest aswell(Surah Nur) - now like always, we muslims always look for the convenience in everything the Quran mentions and the Sunnah says. We do the things we WANT to do and dont do the things we think we can get away with.. but thats the whole point.. we cant away with anything..
