why does one assume that if you were to cover up islamically, then we have to dress down and look like tramps.....if you want to wear nice hijabs or whatever, where does it say you cant....where does it say u have to wear a certain colour/material/.
im sure if one was to cover, itd be a start in the right direction.
yeah where does it say that.. hmm those aunties confuse me i tell ya!
i will wear a purple one with bling to match my kapray. ya?
Yaar don’t worry about someone else’s picking and choosing, obeying and disobeying, adhering and excuse-making…just do what YOU believe is the right thing to do.
Agar aisi soch hoti…to shayad yeh thread na banta.
syraa said whats the point in wearing a hijab-good deed, if your goona commit a crime like murder by night-bad deed. i said, does that mean all 90percent of us who dont wear hijabs are murderers??
Erm. Where did I say that? Someone earlier in this thread said that people can wear 'hijab' and not be modest and then you said it was besides the point. I'm arguing that Hijab and being modest are *not *two separate issues. I only mentioned the murder thing because of your ridiculous statement of "good deeds and bad deeds are separate in Islam" Obviously, the art of taking the mick is lost on you.
Btw, It's funny how you completely ignored the part in my post where I mentioned how hypocrisy was frowned upon in Islam.
All I have to say is---is hijab the only thing that defines Islam? If hijab were such a clear cut thing, why is it not part of the 5 pillars?
Someone mentioned this earlier too, but it's been ignored.
I would teach my SONS to respect women instead of forcing my daughters to wear a hijab. Modesty also applies to men too but you don't see people who push hijabs on girls talking about it.
syraa-yes hypocrisy is frowned upon, but in that sense, we are all hypocrites, who are most likely muslim by name only and birth only...we think we need to be perfect muslims first before we will wear something as simple as a hijab.....lots of converts all wear hijab, whys that, why dont people who convert into islam still wear there usually togs and pray and do the rest, why do they need to wear hijab...usually thats the first sign.....im assuming its because its something they realise first, its something that that dosnt need to be practised, u dnt need to learn it like namaz, or visit it like hajj, or fast like in ramadan, its also usually one of the first things these people learn and understand. so why do these converts all wear hijabs??
secondly the comment from someone, about respecting woman before they force their kids to wear hijab...er? most of the time youll earn more respect when wearing one, no one is forcing anyone, it shouldbt forcced, id hate it too, i wsnt asking about anything like that anyway, my question about the hijab was obv to girls here and why they dont wear it....

??? yaar, hum agar woh 5 pillars bi karle to bahut bari baat hain......anyway references are in the quran either way, and hadees, is this not enough???
Ideally, religion and underpants should be strictly personal matters. I don't understand why people love to poke into each others' all the time. (interpretation is subject to perspective and interest here).
well i think the 5 pillars are made for men women in general
men don't do hijab, hell they can walk in shorts any where
but in case of women its different!!!!
as far as i know, i dont think they can, yes its prob ignored if they do, because men can get away with anything, but i think shorts are not allowed, ?? im sure someone told me once, unless im wrong. or ive read somewhere, not too short shorts, it has to be reasonable lenght......

hmmmm, if only the prophet had thought this too, JUST KEPT religion to himself, personal to him. if only our parents hadnt told us we were muslims and what a muslim is required, if only they had kept it to themselves.... then i guess they would have been the only muslims ever, and we would still have been hindu?or whatever else...its all personal yes, this is a forum for discussion right?
but i think encouraging fellow muslims and asking them whats their reason for not doing hijab n praying 5x makes them question themselves
and you never know when someone will realize and start following these commandments of Allah...
GUYS there is NOTHING wrong with someone bringing up this topic....and YEH it sure is between you and your Allah but if someone is encouraging you to do something that Quran says ... is it really a big deal that you all started attacking her???
