I agree looking at nudity it's better than watching the act.. but for someone's who's looking anyway there isn't much to stop them from going one step further to watch the act..
It's seriously detrimental to society = creates un realistic and quite animalistic expectations of sex
It creates un realistic expectations of physical beauty.
It removes the romantic beautiful aspect of such intimacy.
It takes away your natural sense of shame and modesty.
It creates frustrations, as people go further and further with fantasies and fetishes and so on.
Many of the acts depicted are degrading to women, without a doubt.
It spiritually affects a person's heart.

The entertainment industry has had similar if not equal detrimental effects on the society as the ones you have listed here, wouldn't you agree? The film and fashion industry has already degraded women. "Sex sells" is used to the fullest all over the world and even without porn there's enough material out in the society for men and women to be sexually aroused. I'm not saying that it is okay to take it a step further and get glued to porn, I'm saying if you think your man cannot and will not fantasize about another woman if he isn't watching porn, that is pretty naive of you. Then again, I'm no expert in a man's philosophy on sex so perhaps this is a huge assumption on my behalf. But I'm just wondering would a man not be sexually attracted to display of cleavage, tight clothes, legs etc which is very common in the society in general?

display of skin (cleavage/thighs/arms) is one thing, but lot of men would feel uncomfortable if the same lady who is displaying her cleavage suddenly bares her top and starts feeding her kid. Many men would walk away from such place.

See, that is what intrigues me. Like, why on earth would anybody not want their husband to NOT watch porn? I am not insecure/jealous (seriously, I am not) and I am all for exploring each other's sexuality and yeah, porn may open your mind to new things and may in fact help your sex life but to me, the reason I dont want my husband to is only because the idea of him looking at another woman's groin area makes me sick to my stomach. I dont care about the chest but the down there region is not acceptable. Porn does take away the beauty in a subtle romantic relationship.
And I in no way am closed off about sex or exploration, I don't care if he wants to wear pantyhose or something silly/weird thing along those lines but him looking at another woman's groin makes my blood boil.
So you're okay even if he's thinking about the woman (porn star)? I just assumed women who are okay with their man watching porn interpret/justify it by thinking that the man isn't getting turned on by watching THAT specific woman but merely by the act of sex?
Well men get turned on pretty easily, like ANY man would get turned on my pretty much anything, they are sensitive bless them, its so embarassing for them.
You accidentally brush against them in a busy train and oopsy is that your wallet or.........
like ive been putting a catheter up a mans hey ho and he gets turned on.
Like him looking at some fake porn star every now and then whose voice over is actually by some obese woman eating doughnut doesnt bother me.
He is obvs never goint to meet this woman.
Things like chat rooms, online chatting sexually etc etc would really bother me. But some lamo porn movie wouldnt at all.

In public, majority of the world gets offended by display of nudity which is why it's illegal or unethical. But that same majority has no problem watching adult material in privacy which is why there's such a huge demand for it.

I don't expect him not to at some point. But why encourage it more? Porn would encourage this a hundred times explicitly more than the entertainment industry does.
In some ways I think the emergence of porn became acceptable after the establishment of the hollywood entertainment industry perhaps in the 1920s / 30s. Somewhere along the line actressess became pin-up girls on posters.. and then along came porn. I don't really know the exact history of it lol. But clearly, we as a society became and have become desensitised to nudity in general. Just look at the fashion of wearing leggings with a short top - a few years ago it would be unacceptable, you'd have to at least cover your bum with a mini skirt or something. Now it's as acceptable as wearing trousers...
I can't stop any man from not watching movies, looking at bill boards, music videos, advertisements, and the general media all of which contain elements of nudity but have become part of modern living. Porn however is clearly clearlyy too far - just look at how explicit it is! You are literally looking a close ups of people's private parts. Would you ever watch a couple do it in real life? Then why is it acceptable if it's on a screen?

And also BarbieCue, not every man is going to fantasize about other women. It's not naivety on a woman's part to think that, esp. if she and her husband have a very sexually-open relationship and both aren't afraid to word their fantasies and needs. A man may find another woman attractive but no way in heck does the guy then take it further and fantasize having sex with them. I dont understand why some women are so accepting of this. *It is NOT the case with every guy. Nor woman. *

That's true. You can't stop people from fantasising. But that does not justify porn.

I'd rather he watched it and fantasized about it ALONE than go out and do it with another person - if you get me. It's just a form of release, they need something to get them going and porn does the job. No biggie (accidental pun, I swear :D).

Sometimes a man needs it more than a woman can give, sometimes a woman needs it more than a man can give. The wife/husband may be away, unwell, busy...you can't just demand sex at anytime and get it.

Then again, maybe he wants to do it with someone else but is refraining from doing so. Porn can be a way of getting rid of the 'desire' to do it by being less...errr horny I guess.

Same reason why people don't mind watching a couple kiss on screen but wouldn't dare stare at the couple in real life.

Ok say my husband is away on a business trip and he is really needy and I am like a bazillion miles away I would rather him watch some porn than be tempted by the hotel receptionist.
