I find that women (mostly American) seem more relaxed about having the hubby subscribes to Playboy magazine than watching porn. I think hubby watching a nude woman is ok for the wife than for him to watch the act. Maybe that is the reason many women are ok with the concept of bachelor party and hubby/fiance going to a strip club (than to a brothel off course)

I wouldnt be ok with the fact at all...it is almost like cheating to me! Who knows when he's getting intimate with me he's fantasizing about some porn star..arrgh ! plain yuck IMO.

I agree looking at nudity it's better than watching the act.. but for someone's who's looking anyway there isn't much to stop them from going one step further to watch the act..
It's seriously detrimental to society = creates un realistic and quite animalistic expectations of sex
It creates un realistic expectations of physical beauty.
It removes the romantic beautiful aspect of such intimacy.
It takes away your natural sense of shame and modesty.
It creates frustrations, as people go further and further with fantasies and fetishes and so on.
Many of the acts depicted are degrading to women, without a doubt.
It spiritually affects a person's heart.

I know what you mean but knowing that he watches porn knowing that I am probably not enough would be the thoughts that would come in my mind whenever he would try to get physically intimate with me..and that would kill the whole thing for me. Suspicion, inferiority feelings, low self esteem, low mood they would all creep in and be there for a long long time. Not good ! :nono:

To be honest, I think society is in a very very sad state of affairs for there to be men and women who find porn acceptable. If someone does look at porn but at least in their heart they know that it's wrong then that's one thing. To accept it as the norm is another thing.

Also, I do hope people realise the bitter reality of the porn industry.. how a lot of the directing is very very aggressive and male dominating... how many porn stars are actors and actresses.. many of the actresses fake orgasms... how men are chosen based on size and erm performance.. how many of the female assests are fake.. how even the makeup on the females is sluttyish.. how fantasies are exploited to a really animalistic level..
A whole new world... entirely FAKE.. an industry with an underlying simple aim of making money... shallow yet very effective - exploting man's basic sexual desires.
And then if you are to look at soft porn, a HUGE amount of the material is taken from leaked home made videos many of which I very much doubt both partners had agreed to put up on the internet, or from secret webcams in hotel rooms and what not.
Don't even get me started on what effect it has on your heart spiritually..

I think the fact that it creates insecurity in women is itself a bad thing. Why put your partner in that situation? Now if the porn stars are deliberately having breast enhancements and what not, and if they all have what is idealised as the 'perfect figure' then of course that is creating unrealistic expectations for the average woman, who has to deal with puberty, child birth, menopause and so on.

Those that degrade women in daily life are also influenced by what they see and hear from the environment around them, and from what society says is acceptable. If being really really aggressive and animalistic whilst having sex is all they see when watching porn, then it becomes normalised to them. Acting in this way when being with your wife isn't even part of the Sunnah...

I think getting insecure/jealous over your man watching porn is pretty sad.
See, that is what intrigues me. Like, why on earth would anybody not want their husband to NOT watch porn? I am not insecure/jealous (seriously, I am not) and I am all for exploring each other's sexuality and yeah, porn may open your mind to new things and may in fact help your sex life but to me, the reason I dont want my husband to is only because the idea of him looking at another woman's groin area makes me sick to my stomach. I dont care about the chest but the down there region is not acceptable. Porn does take away the beauty in a subtle romantic relationship.
And I in no way am closed off about sex or exploration, I don't care if he wants to wear pantyhose or something silly/weird thing along those lines but him looking at another woman's groin makes my blood boil.
porn to me is like an art museum. go ahead and think but dont you dare even get close to touching another woman sexually.
So you're okay even if he's thinking about the woman (porn star)? I just assumed women who are okay with their man watching porn interpret/justify it by thinking that the man isn't getting turned on by watching THAT specific woman but merely by the act of sex?
